That doesn't mean it pulls 750 watts whenever it is on... The thing drives 11 speakers ffs.

My subwoofers don't draw 500+ watts the entire time they are powered on.

The computer i'm typing this message on has a 4090, that doesn't make it draw 1000 watts when browsing slickdeals.

I've had mine over 2 years now, driving a 7.2.6 setup. Works great. I do wish it had a better OSD, since it sits at the back of my dedicated theater space. Connected to an Epson 5050 pj, and an ATV, Shield, Switch, Xbox, UHD Player and more.

Use the second HDMI out for a mirror display to a RasPI which controls the LED backlights behind the screen in sync with what is on screen.

750watts power draw... At least it weighs 32 pounds. Oh well only a few more years till we switch to digital amps and switch mode power supplies, for receivers.

That is peak power draw for 11 channels. My point isnt that its drawing 750 constantly (its really only 60 watts at idle) its that its not 140 watts x 11. The unit's peak power draw is 300 watts less than my current 7 channel thats rated at 130 watts and is 20lbs heavier.

Always been the case with AVRs vs dedicated amps. That's why you use this to drive all the surround stuff, and get a nice amp to drive the fronts. Thus getting to the 13 channels this thing supports.

How does this compete with the new Sony that just came out this year for similar price?

For those keeping score, this is one of the Japanese made models. All of the lower models are not for what its worth.
