Yes, M3 will be introduce during WWDC in June for 15in MacBook Air (Rumor). This is a good deal nonetheless, plus we don't even know what performance gains M3 will bring and how it will impact the prices for other laptop models. I haven't seen a 32gb MacBook pro 16" w/ Max processor model close to 2k or less unless you shop on e-bay for used/refurbished.

new rumor is the amazing 15" air will have the m2 in it. regardless, m3 pro macbook pros will not be anywhere till next year, another rumor there wont be many of them, since they aren't producing as many 3mn chips as they need and apple will be using the majority of them in the new IPHONE since that is their bread and butter and money maker, in fact they sell less macbook's than any other product they sell. will apple still be making m1 versions and selling them dirt cheap then? or are they being clearanced out like many sites label the sales of the M1 versions currently.

This is on backorder now, but I went ahead and ordered it. This is a great deal for the 32GB RAM model.

My Capital One Venture card had a 2% cash back offer for Adorama. It required logging into the Capital One website and following the link. Worth a shot for an additional $40 back.

Putting a 512 SSD in this powerful machine is simply stupid. Buying one with it is idiotic.

You are correct, no company want to sell their product super cheap unless then want to get rid old inventory so the new one can sell (M2/M2 pro). Recently Apple stopped M2 production because no one was buying MacBook pro with m2 why? Because M1 and M1 pro went on sale due to M2 release. Plus, majority of individuals have already jumped the gun on buying a computer/laptop for themselves when the M1 / M1 pro went on sale, the very early sales price where it was $300 or $400 from the MSRP. All of PC market has been in decline so we can expect even more rigorous price point when the holidays come. I mean if you been playing the waiting game for the past year expecting it to go even lower then yes it will go lower but at that point you will be deciding do I want a 2 year old laptop or the brand new device that cost the same price as the older model was released and with-in few months it will go one sale knocking of 200 dollars from MSRP?
(e.g 14" MacBook Pro w/ M2 Pro processor was priced at 1999 same price as 14" MacBook Pro w/ M1 Pro processor when it was released) -> also since it was apple many complained that they reduced the storage speed and went for M1 Pro because of fast storage speed and the performance improvement from M1 pro to M2 pro weren't even worth upgrade for some.

People have different needs and this machine configuration is probably great for a lot of people, including myself.

Mainly, I wanted the 16 inch screen with at least an M1 and 16GB of memory at the cheapest possible price. I run a lot of applications at the same time for software development (database servers, application servers, IDE, etc). I don't need a lot of disk space because I'm not working with large files like videos or audio. I've been running a machine with 512GB of disk for years and space has never been an issue for me.

Everyone is different and it is foolish to assume that how you use a computer is how everyone else does too.

You can pay $500 more for the 1TB or just buy an external usb-c for like $70. I would rather have more memory than hd space

Or Apple could build a machine with an upgradeable m.2 SSD slot. There is no excuse for them not to, other than a money grab at the expense of their customers.

This has been hashed and rehashed to death. No one is being forced to buy any of these machines.

That isn't an actual rebuttal to my point. Do you deny that Apple's practice of using non upgradeable storage with little to no benefit(and in some cases being inferior to third party SSD options) is nothing more than a method to maximize profits? This method specifically being the most customer unfriendly way of maximizing profits because it not only limits upgradeability, but forces customers to overpay for components.

Your absolutely right! I want to buy this laptop but I won't due to their greed. 512 GB in a $2000 laptop is rediculous.

WWDC will introduce Macbook Air 15" with M2/M2 Pro chips similar to Mac Mini M2/M2 Pro line-up. No M3 until later this year or early next year.
