Google honored the 1 year warranty however, and they sent out a replacement phone. I returned my defective 6a to Google...all should have been well.....except
Xfinity won't let me replace the defective 6a with my replacement 6a and keep the device payment plan going. They said (on the phone and different rep via chat) that if I swap in the replacement 6a I will LOSE my remaining device payment plan credits.
Since the defective 6a is gone, my options are to simply let that line ride out the remaining 14 payment plan credits (for 14 more months) and effectively lose access to that phone number (cannot move the phone number or I will also lose the remaining device payment plan credits).
Or, I can simply swap the SIM and be sure NEVER to confirm with Xfinity that I swapped the SIM into the replacement device (they have an online notice that they have detected I swapped devices and to confirm it). Then hope that all is well for the next 14 months...there is no guarantee.
According to the Xfinity CSR's there is no provision to retain your remaining device payment plan credits should you lose or break your phone during the pendency of the payment credits, even though the line remains active with the number you ported in. If you change the device, and you let them know, you lose the payment plan credits.

1) The FIRST line you set up on the By-The-GIg plan will incur a minimum of $15 + taxes and fees; that's for 1 GB.
2) If you exceed the 1 GB shared data - you will be charged $10 per GB overage OR need to change your plan to the $30 (3 GB) or $60 (10 GB) plan; note that usually the change is from the NEXT month.
3) Each subsequent line added on the By-The-Gig plan shares the same pool of data; i.e. if you'd set up the 1st line with 1 GB and then add one more line, both share the same 1 GB.
4) Taxes and fees vary by location. In MY case I see a charge of ~$2 per line; for your location, the taxes and fees may be somewhat different.
5) Although XM's website says "upto 10 lines on the By-The-Gig plan" ; in practice, they initially restrict the number of lines. In my case, I was initially approved for upto 5 lines (back in 2017 when I joined); it took about 4 years to allow more lines. If you have already reached your "limit" - then you may not be able to add a line until the limit is changed. Note that most CS will tell you they can't do anything; you may need to escalate to a supervisor and may still not get a favorable answer. That said - if you're needing an extra line for a promotion that XM prioritizes (like an internet plan upgrade or commitment) it becomes easier to get the extra line.
6) Last but not least - XM service requires you to have Xfinity / Comcast internet; if you terminate the internet service, you get charged extra fees per line.

For the people complaining, there's now a $250 off Pixel 6a deal...so $200 total for both new line and upgrade. So if you have the Xfinity Reward for buying a new phone (up to $150 Visa GC)...that would bring it down to low as $50 (free with new line + CB)...with no bill credits, no contract, and solves the unlock problem.

It applies to your Internet bill. So that might mean you can get (2) of their lowest tier Unlimited plans for $15. Now if it were to stack on their pre-existing combo deals...lol...

I leverage the fact that I have alternative providers accessible for my home plus the 6 years of having been with them to keep re-negotiating; I'd say that having an alternative forces Comcast to be reasonable with their prices. If I didn't have an alternative provider - I doubt if any amount of discussion would keep them in check.
Earlier, when there was no alternative, I was on a cycle of switching subscriptions between my wife and myself; I'd terminate, my wife would sign up as a new customer, and then at the end of the "discount" period would terminate and switch.
Keep that in mind; if you don't have an alternative, make sure you are completing your "bill credits" before your internet contract expires (or will have a small enough balance that you don't mind paying. Or have an exit path like T-mo's Keep and Switch where they pay off your balance.

It's where you can find new XM deals. It might be one of those that's best to take a screenshot since sometimes these types of deals appear and then just mysteriously disappear.
Hmmmm, it could be either new or both. New is obvious...but it might also work if you change your plan and meet the requirements...more so if your "change plan" website/interface offers a new plan deal with the pre-existing combo deal offer. I know the pre-existing combo deal back when it was $30 worked as a current customer. But this deal could be coded for new customers only.
I could of swore the plan builder for my region had recently added a mobile section which would be potentially helpful for deals like this...but now it's gone.

I am considering getting this deal, signing up for a By-the-Gig plan w/ Xfinity and port in my current number 123 from Mint. Assuming I will keep the By-the-Gig plan for 24 months to get all the bill credits to get the Pixel "free", will I at some point be able to port out the number 123 I ported in without loosing the bill credits?
I am slightly concerned about coverage or any other issues I may encounter w/ Xfinity and if I will be able to port out my number 123 back to Mint penalty-free that would be good.
An alternative would be to get a new number (e.g. from numberbarn) to port in to Xfinity, and/but then if I like the Xfinity service I would like to be able to later port in my current number 123 from Mint to Xfinity (when the Mint plan expires, if not earlier), again without loosing the bill credits.
If you have a compatible phone to port-in...you could BYOD + $100 Visa GC your real phone number and port-in + buy a Pixel 7 using a new GV/Numberbarn number. Then SIM swap as needed and still have the option to port-out your real phone number without the risk of losing your bill credits.
There's what the guy said about getting a CSR involved and swapping...but I dunno about that. The $100 Visa GC would cover any extra incurred fees and probably give you some pocket change on top. It might even go up to a $200 Visa GC come 5/15.
The majority of carriers will accept phone number transfers from NumberBarn. Some mobile carriers have policies that only allow them to port in "wireless" phone numbers. NumberBarn's numbers are classified as "wireline"

If (like me and others) you already have service with XM, especially on the by-the-gig plan - adding a line is just taxes (in my case, around $2 per month); plus the cost of a number ($7 from number barn). Total cost of around $55 (2 per month x 24 months + $7 for the number) to get a "free" phone.
Yes, it's locked to XM; but I can swap numbers to keep the credits, and then use the phone as normal (since I'm on XM anyway). I've picked up 3 phones so far this way; an iPhone SE, iPhone 12 mini and a Pixel 6a.
I took a new Xfinity line(1st line by the gig, porting from Google voice) on May 4th with an iPhone SE free for $15 a month. I haven't activated it yet. I saw this pixel 7 for free on may 9th and I added a new line(used same phone number that I gave for 1st line since I didn't activate the previous number yet) and thought I ordered this as replacement for the previous phone thinking I'd return iPhone SE(even got a return authorization). However after looking at this comment, I think I don't really need to return the iPhone SE but just use a new number on the new 2nd line to activate Google pixel. Is this understanding correct?
Basically I paid tax on iPhone SE and $15+tax for first line and I paid tax for Pixel 7 but my monthly for second line will only be $2.xx for 24 months and I get both phone for almost free(excluding tax and small monthly fee)? Ofcourse I have to stay in contract for 24 months. Since I have xfinity internet, I get another $20 discount(main reason why I took new line) because I added xfinity mobile.
Please clarify if my understanding is right and I don't need to return the iPhone SE and don't end up paying $30 + tax for both by the gig lines. I don't really need new phones, took it merely to get discount on xfinity internet.
