It's actually both. The amount of power that a battery pack can put out has a direct correlation to the size of the pack and the cells inside.
Each cell inside the battery pack can only safely put out so much power at once; Draw too much power and it'll overheat, die, explode, etc.

So, a 3AH battery pack can safely put out at least double what a 1.5AH battery pack can put out.

1.5 ah battery is not strong enough to run the reciprocating saw for anything bigger than thin branches. I got one of these Ryobi combos with the reciprocating saw, circular saw, and brad nailer with the 1.5 batteries and I thought the tools sucked until I put a bigger more powerful battery in them. The little batteries can get really hot and burn out quickly not outputting enough power to run the tools.

Less power. I have both and the impact wrench just doesn't hit as hard with the smaller battery.

Milwaukee, have y'all; seen the prices?

Ryobi, Ridgid, etc, perfectly acceptable for homeowner tasks. If you are a contractor and make your living every day with these tools, then price does not matter and you should be buying Milwaukee, Dewalt, etc.

I had a Black & Decker drill/saw set last me a decade.

If you already have the brushed version, I don't think it's worth getting it. But if you don't have it yet then go for it.

I'm saying this bec. I own a ryobi brushed bundle. I was new to tools and if I knew what I know now, I would've gotten the brushless. But I also have an m12 and that's the first one I reach. If I need more power then the 18v ryobi.
Regular battery is just fine, but if your tools prefers the new batteries, they give more power is what I saw on reviews.
I bought an 8-tool Ryobi set for $210 (https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com...t/PCK600KN) and this HD kit today repeats 3 of the tools but they are a bit better. I do like how the drill & driver are smaller. In fairness the P215 drill is the same size as my 10+ year old Black & Decker.

I know someone to give the other tools to, so it'll work out.

Not sure what you are talking about. Last week we trimmed my neighbor's tree and cut 8" branches using a 1.5 battery without any problems.

Does HD ever have the deals where you can hack the 2 items to get 1 for much cheaper anymore?

Yeah I just did this the other day. But the catch is you either ship both to your home or pick both at the store and from there you return the battery or whatever you don't like.

I actually did both instore pickup and ship to home. I return the battery each instances no problem.

The instore pick up, once it's ready you can just text hd cs and they will cancel no problem.

I heard you can do instore pick up to two different stores and you can cancel one of them on the computer. That I haven't tried.

Oh wow I thought they fixed this thanks! I never thought about the 2 store way too.

My Ryobi brushed drill just went out is this kit worth the upgrade?
Is it still under warranty? I think Ryobi offers a 5 year warranty on tools.

Is this still a good deal if you do not care about the impact driver or wait for something else?

I'd also like to know this, and I don't need the reciprocating saw, either. is it really that easy to sell, and if so, where?

I was thinking the same. I wonder if holding out for a drill with better batteries makes sense.

I think the warranty is actually 3 years. If you don't have the original receipt. when you call them and give them the serial number, they will go off of the manufacturing date.
