The Dual temp version goes on sale with battery, charger, and dremel station for $49
This version is missing the temp selection, drip tray, overmolding, and extra tips
This one is not Dual Temp, FYI...
I'm still waiting on the combo kit for 50.

These eat thru batteries really quickly; at least in my experience.

Meh. Rather have a cord than a heavy battery attached. While I know some people love adding another tool to their rechargeable lineup, this one seems like a waste to me. I've never even been in a situation where a battery powered glue gun would really be needed... though I imagine some people might.

If you prefer to not have the battery attached to the glue gun, Ryobi makes a compact model (P306):

Much better than being tethered to a power cord or needing an electrical outlet nearby. It takes the mini glue sticks, instead of the full size.

I guess if you are using it all day? I own a variety of batteries and if I need it to be on for an extended period (throughout the day), I just use a 4.0. Love this glue gun!

I've done very large jobs (>2 lbs of construction grade glue at a session) with these guns and they're tough and hot, with pretty decent throughput. You can put down a ton of glue with a 4AH. Battery life has always been fine but I would stick to 2AH or higher. The newer dual temp version with the drip tray is nice but I would say the trigger and action is a little bit better on the cheaper older model, this older model feels like it has slightly more leverage and control. Dual temp one isn't bad but feels more like a craft gun trigger.

Not sure how good P305 is, but I got $50 combo kit from March with P307 glue gun. P307 is very good, I like it.
Whoa thanks for the reminder. I have the combo kit in my garage unopened in the box and forgot it came with a glue gun. Just cancelled my order for this! Ah, slickdeals!

Forgot to add the link for the last time this went on sale.

IMO it is better to wait on this deal to come back (it has a few times)

Cheers for talking me out of buying this one - I remember seeing the older deal also, and am kicking myself for not biting then. I'm in no rush, though, and hope to jump on it next time.

Just bought this 3 weeks ago for $30. Will HD refund the price difference?
You can buy another at 19 and return new one with receipt for 30 unopened. But my HD has changed periods for returns a couple time. If you bought with a HD credit card you have a year.

I bought one yesterday at 30 and returned... Poor control and oozed long after trigger release... A mess
