I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.
I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.
Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.
I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.
Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.
I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.
Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

So I went in coming from Tmobile. I got my transfer pin from Tmobile before heading there. Went in with two phones/lines to move. Got the b1G1 deal on the lines so only 30 a month for the two lines added to my already existing Spectrum account. They only had one of the S23s I wanted in the color/size config I wanted in stock so oddly enough I did both in person and mail in process.
So for the one line that was in person they took the phone from me, discounted the new S23 by the $601 trade in value (cracked screen) and so I paid for the difference on the phone + tax, the activation fee (don't recall) and that was it. Took about 45 minutes for the line transfer and paperwork to all be done for that line. That was it.
The second line/phone they charged me full price upfront in the store + tax. They mailed me the phone with Fedex express 2 day. I took my time (like 20+ days) to mail in my old one after transferring data. They received the trade in after 4 days and within 24 hours issued confirmation of the trade in and value being correct for the phone. I haven't gotten my next bill to see if I got that money back on it yet but so far it's gone shockingly well.
I would suggest doing in person since they take the trade in then in some states you won't pay the full price sales tax nonsense. So one of my phones was a lot more expensive than the other one.
Then it shows 3 service options. Pay by the gig ($14?), regular ($0 for 20gb before throttle), and plus ($10 for 30gb before throttle)
i didn't port the phone # and will get a new number instead.
my plan
* get the phone
* activate it same day
* call support next day and ask for unlock
* call tmobile and activate this phone for wife existing cell # (we have simple choice fam plan)
* send her old samsung for $635 trade in.
* wait till credit for the amount will appear on statement
* call spectrum and cancel after 2 billing cycles
question: anything you see wrong in the above?
i bought the same phone few days ago on samsung's site w/pick up at best buy. It was $799-$200(trade in)-$30(first response)=$570 + tax
planning to return this back.
i hope i won't end up w/2 phones and trade in not validated.

Will it work? Or I have to keep 2nd line for 2 months for unlocking it?
Thanks

You will need to keep paying the 2nd line for at least 2 months to be safe.
