Just FYI, be sure to tell them you want to pay in full when you buy in-store- they didn't ask me and I assumed I was just going to pay in full. They put me on a 36 month payment plan and applied my credits accordingly. I called and confirmed I can pay off the balance, and then get the remainder credited back to my credit card once it's paid off.

For those who did this in-store, does it still require Spectrum internet?

I have Spectrum stores in the area but my address isn't serviced by Spectrum internet. Wonder if I can still do this deal in-store.
Yes, requires Spectrum Internet.

When I went to add service-> mobile, it asked if I was a current customer, which I clicked yes because I'm.

Then it shows 3 service options. Pay by the gig ($14?), regular ($0 for 20gb before throttle), and plus ($10 for 30gb before throttle)
I am not seeing $0 for 20GB option for some reason. I am in NC and I have their internet.

Free line is YMMV / depends on your internet plan. The BOGO free line is more widely available.

How much does it cost to add the least expensive line? I believe it's $10 activation plus $14?

Same thing happened to me. Had to call in and paid off the phone and got the unlock as well.

Login to spectrum.net --> Your Services --> Mobile --> Next to each line, "Eligible for Upgrade"
I opened 2 unlimited lines for $29.99 2 months ago as part of the BOGO free. I followed your guide and it doesn't show "eligible for upgrade". It just have the switch plan option which is "By the Gig" or "Unlimited Plus". I guess no upgrade option for me. Best is to just open another line which is By the Gig which cost $14 per Gig, right?

Not sure if you can mix plan types, but that could work. Maybe the eligible for upgrade disappears after the first month, since you are are month 2. Check that new line after your purchase / trade-in and see if it's eligible.

I'm thinking of opening a 3rd line and pay $14 By the Gig. Do a trade in using that line.

I just did this deal. Already have Spectrum internet and 72 streaming channels ($61.25 a month out the door 4 500 mbits/s). Got $635 for my mint but 8 year old S5. Couldn't pass that up. 2 lines for $30 a month for first year, $60 a month after that. Saving about $1500 in first year to ditch Verizon. Fingers crossed. Thanks op and everyone.
