I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

I traded for 2 S23s. Never turned on the 2nd one, just pulled SIM and put in an Iphone XR. Been working fine. Shows as" BYOD Generic Apple Devices" on my account page.

I purchased the s23, upgraded to the s23 ultra. Beautiful phone. Called and got it unlocked.

I took the $14. plan. But I really have no use for the plan. How soon can you cancel the plan and not have any repercussions from Spectrum regarding the phones?

Anyone obtain the phone you wanted and cancel the plan soon afterwards?

Thoughts and comments on this.
Thanks.

Is the service prepaid? If so, can't you just take autopay off and let the line cancel on its own? Rather than manually cancelling the line?

You can just port out your number to cancel. Plenty of SDers need numbers for other port-in deals, so they may be willing to pay. Check this reddit thread for port out info. [reddit.com]

So your saying if I port a number out, it will automatically cancel the plan?

I was able finally able to trade in a s23 for a s23 ultra 😃. However I went to another store to try trade another s23 for a s23+ and they said I needed to contact the fraud department or something. Not sure why but I'll try again tomorrow

multiple trade ins in one day no good?

Why wouldn't it? Your number is no longer with spectrum after porting. Lol

Spectrum is a MVNO of Verizon, so they follow Verizon's policy of tying the SIM to the IMEI of the assigned phone. Therefore, hotswapping SIMs is strongly discouraged. Verizon could disable the sim altogether.

If you want to use your Spectrum SIM in a different phone, that new phone's IMEI must be assigned to the Spectrum SIM. You can do this either by calling in to Spectrum, or do it online yourself using the BYOD and selecting the Keep Your Sim option. Note: Changing your device to a BYOD device will remove your Upgrade Available option from that line, so get your upgrades in before swapping devices.
Ouloat is correct on this. The Spectrum SIM card will need the IMEI of the different phone you're using since you're not using the S23 the SIM card came with.

I have a few stores within 20 minutes of me.
Currently on AT&T, but I'd be ok dropping my line (from family plan) and using their spectrum service free for 1 year.

Good to trade in my s10+ or should I buy a cheaper phone (from FB) to trade in? I'd be willing to try the new s23 to new s23 trade in to get the $200 profit credit, or then taking the 1st s23 they give me to get a free s23+ or s23ultra for $200 extra $
(Or, start with 1 line, trade in s10+, then find cheaper phone to trade in on 2nd new line that I'd drop after paying in full and unlocking 2nd s23)

local stores open in 2 hours. Thanks if anyone replies 😆
