I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

awesome, get my 2nd refund of $615 from trade in credit and that 2nd s23 has also been unlocked... I see the notification on the device right when they did it.
Did you mean your credit card got refunded and not your Spectrum account?

Yes, it's easy if you have your story straight. The agent will see your S23 active on the line, so have a response for that. The upgrade works fine in the system as long as you pass the agent's BS check. If you are not a smooth talker, best to do it online and take the 2 months / tax hit.

So what do you tell the Spectrum rep, why you're trading in the S23 for another S23? Changing color?

I told the rep in my store that the reason I was trading in two brand new S23s for two new S23s was that I wanted the $400 account credit (two S23s on the BOGO line deal) and that it would pay for a year of service (already called and got it put back on my card & both phones unlocked). His response was "you are a f'n genius"!

Correct, both refunds were back to my credit card. The one from 5 days ago already credited and the one today already shows pending on my online account right after they processed it this morning.

Both times and trades were done in store. Which saved on the taxes as taxes were calculated only on the difference between the s23 and the A32 phone I traded in both times.

Worked online, but not in store. I tried 2 stores, they were not able to process. She said it's allowing her to place order for shipping not for in store sale, weird. Looks like there is an issue with my account
Same happened to me. Got one line upgrade from s6 -> s23 -> s23 ultra. Tried to do the second line pixel -> s23 -> s23 ultra in-store. Everything went through fine until the last step, a pop up message stating to complete the transaction online. I can even see the $1 test charge on my credit card. Called Spectrum but no one knows why.

I tried again after 48 hours, it worked for 1 line. Second line got the issue again. I am planning to wait for another 48 hours.
Looks like our accounts got some trouble on last week activation issues.
I didn't want to call CS, they are not helpful.

In California (CA), had to order phone online and have trade-in completed online.
- Opted for a new line/number with Spectrum. Do I have to activate Spectrum mobile on the S23?
- The package I received has no info on how to do the mail-in trade-in. Does that show up on my account somewhere? Does activating the S23 on Spectrum mobile trigger that trade-in stuff?

I tried to do a trade today but was told that the trade in credit would have to be divvied out over the next 36 months. Anyone have a recommendation for getting past this? I am right in assuming i should just be able to bring in a phone for trade and it applies at the time of purchase?

there is no such requirement. Go to a different store or different Rep.
