Promotional Offer Details
https://www.spectrum.co
Offer Valid 02/01/2023 - 06/30/2023. Get $600 off when you trade-in and purchase a Samsung Galaxy S23 Series device, plus additional trade-in value based on the condition of your device. Restrictions apply. Spectrum Internet required. Auto-pay required. Visit spectrum.com/mobile/tradein for details.
Trade-in Criteria: As long as your trade-in is worth $1, the $600 promo will apply during the trade-in credit check.
1. Is the device free of major physical damage? No is okay. Don't push your luck here too much, don't try to trade-in 80% of a phone or something that been ran over twice by a car.
2. Does the device have a functional screen that is free of cracks and other damage? No is okay
3. Is the device free from liquid damage? Yes is mandatory
4. Does the device power on? Yes is mandatory
Trade-in IMEIs: When testing to see if your phone is accepted for trade-in, any random fingermashed IMEI can be used as long as it starts with a 3. If you want to double check, 356742465815274 is a random IMEI that works. (Not true, just had this method show my phone as rejected when it DID accept the real IMEI)
Trade-in phone: The list of accepted phones differ between carriers, so if you don't find your phone on the list, check the original or "other" carrier. Also, the link of accepted Samsung phones is huge (may be all A, S, and Note series), even some international only models are accepted.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.
I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.
Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.
I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.
Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.
I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.
Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

It should be permanent unlock in general, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
another employee had no idea how the trade in works, kept telling me about monthly credits
told him multiple times during the process just make sure you select paid in full
traded in iphone SE for S23 for $208 out the door
immediately had the upgrade available
did the S23 to S23+ and got the 0.01 credit
look on his face lol
1) Wrong firmware? For the wrong phone? The model numbers I posted was for base S23, not S23+.
2) Firmware failed to fully dl?
3) Incomplete flash? There are 5 files in the firmware zip, 4 of them need to be flashed all at the same time with Odin. The guide explains which file to exclude.

I followed the instructions to the letter... i think..
using frija I typed my model number for my s23+ as SM-S916U with CSC: TMB (I tried CSC for XAA/XAS but not available I guess? Neither are showing results) so went for Tmobile and downloaded it successfully. Used Odin, and the phone showed as added, selected the respective BL,CP, CSC (not homeCSC but also tried this with the same result), and AP file, no user data. started Odin, it ran and said successful. The phone rebooted a couple of times, and the phone started up but gave me the same spectrum logo, and forced the spectrum software. I also tried a factory reset after all of this with the same result.
Though I do see that the recovery is the name of the firmware I flashed for TMB Tmobile, so maybe there is another step I'm missing.?
I used Odin3 v3.14.1_3B_PatcheD with Frija-V1.4.4

Couple of other ideas:
1) I think I read somewhere that even with Odin, you can't downgrade firmware to an earlier version of bootloader. So check the version of the firmware you are flashing equals or is greater than the version on your phone.
2) Check your CSC once you inserted your t-mobile sim and rebooted [xda-developers.com]. Should say something along the lines (don't have phone in front of me to check) of TMB / TMB - CHA / CHA. If it doesn't, your firmware hasn't be updated. If it does, then something else is going on with your phone if you are still get Spectrum apps.
3) Did you put your phone into download mode to accept the Odin flash? Download mode is different than recovery or fastboot.

Once I downloaded the XAA SM-S916U1 Frija found the firmware, Odin flashed successfully, the phone rebooted, and the logo was gone, with no bloatware!
TY for the information about this deal and for the assistance with the firmware flash!
The process is straightforward, most of the effort was reading and finding the right files. Below are my tips to simplify the guide.
1) Unlock first before flashing to minimize any chance of phone not unlocking with new firmware.
2) 4 key software needed.
2a) ADB to get the phone into download mode [xda-developers.com]
2b) Samsung Phone Drivers for connecting Windows to your phone [samsung.com]
2c) Frija to download the firmware zip from Samsung onto your Windows comp [xda-developers.com]
2d) Odin 3.14.1_3B_Patched to install the firmware on to your phone via your Windows comp [xda-developers.com]. DL the last attachment on the op post.
3) When searching for the firmware in Frija, S23 model is SM-S911U and CSC is whatever carrier you want [tsar3000.com]. For fully stock S23, model is SM-S911U1 and CSC is XAA. Please note, this model is for base S23, S23+ and S23U have different models.
3a) I downloaded CHA (Charter / Spectrum), ATT, and XAA (Factory Unlocked) firmware just in case needed to restore.
3b) Download connection is iffy, failed at least once per download. Just search again and redownload.
3c) Unzip the firmware zip. There are 5 files inside. 2 of the files are CSC files and you are to use only one of them, not both when flashing. The guide explains one will wipe the data and the other will not, your choice on which to use.
4) Under How to install Samsung firmware there are 3 subsections: Using Android Debug Bridge (ADB), Using SD Card, and Odin. Each are mutually exclusive, so just choose 1. I did Odin. Once Odin started, the process took less than 5 mins and the phone rebooted without any of the Spectrum branding / apps.
If I choose A13 5g instead of A14 5g and add imei, it is accepting.
Will it be accepted by their Assurant Tradein team if the model is different and imei is correct?
Any idea?
I think it is a mistake that they've not added A14 5g

Dig through your local goodwill, yard sales, or online marketplace for an accepted trade-in or get the $40 tracfone from the op.

The tracking number shows it was delivered to delivered to Assurant on 5/30/2023.
I have not yet (6/6/2023) received any notice of acceptance (nor denial) from either Assurant or Spectrum.
Is there a good way to contact Assurant or Spectrum to get an unpate on the status of my trade-in?
