I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

Heads up for port outs:
I ported out my 2 numbers on 06/17, my bill cycle ends on 05/18. New cycle started today means 06/19.
I got email saying I need make payment of $29.99 even though they were already ported out. I had to call them to deactivate the lines. Not sure if this happened to anyone else.

Although a weaker version might return, it seems pretty unlikely the original will return because Samsung and/or Spectrum got fleeced pretty bad by the SD effect, I suspect.

I'm having problems receiving my trade in credit and Spectrum is pretty worthless.

On THEIR webpage I can see that they received the trade in on 6/16/23 but they are telling me it was never received and they don't have any information about it (and they tell me that I'm lying when I say I can see it on their own website.)

Any tips or suggestions?

Trade in is handled by Assurant and not Spectrum ! Does your trade in status show ' it passed inspection' ?.. per my experience, Assurant is taking around > 6 days to process it and helpline number provided is no good.. my 0.002 is to give it 1-2 more days.. mine was rxd on 6/12 and approved on 6/21..

Thank you for the information on the delay of assessment. I'll sit back and chill for a while longer.

Delivered
Your device was received at our warehouse on 06/16/2023. It should be assessed by 06/20/2023.
Assessment
[no information here]

The website is: www.spectrumtradein.com So you'd think Spectrum could see it. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

yea..that link is same as Assurant's ( check your trade in status) and most likely Spectrum CC cant see it...i think they are deliberately slowing it down but hopefully you should be good in next 3 -4 days ..

In my case, Assurant web page showed that my case would resolved in 6/15/2023. I received an email from Assurant on 6/21/23 saying I will receive a credit in the next 2 billing cycles

I have not seen the credit yet as off today.

Wait for a few days and you would see credit to your spectrum account then you need to call them to refund to you CC

When I tracked my trade-in, I found:
Your device was received at our warehouse on 06/14/2023. It should be assessed by 06/16/2023.
But up to now, I have not seen any progress regarding the assessment. Is it any way to check with Assurant?

I got the credit early July so it was about 1 month in. I chatted online with customer service to transfer or credit back the $600 back to my credit card but the rep was saying that money is only a credit to my account, not cash, so it can only be used for paying the bills with spectrum. I will try again next week to see if I can get that from a US representative. If not I will pay my spectrum broadband with that credit then...This is not what I had in mind but it is better than nothing :-)
btw, that online rep had no problem unlocking my samsung S23 even though I have been with spectrum mobile for less than 2 months.

Anyway, I remember reading on spectrum web site about the credit is supposed to be put back to the original method of payment like my credit card. I went back and found the record of that
https://www.spectrum.net/support/...e-in-terms

"If you accept the offer, you'll either receive a credit in the form of a refund to the same credit card you used to purchase the new device or it can be applied to your Device Payment Plan"

Today, I chatted again with Spectrum and I was just asking about my credit and the rep told me I needed to be transferred to the mobile department. The person at mobile department had no problem refund me the $600 credit to my credit card. There you have it. :-)

I will update this if I do not get the credit refunded to my credit card :-)

I still have the line open and it looks like I will need to stay with them for the rest of this second billing cycle.
