Generally accepted as the 3rd best SSD in this form factor barely behind the Samsung 860 EVO and 870 EVO.

Yes, it has DRAM. It's a great drive if you need a 2.5" SSD.

Yes, the new 4TB MX500 is actually using QLC to screw up buyer

if you have the open NVME slot go with that instead, smaller, no cables, and faster. Sometime even has the same storage chips (but different controller chips)

4TB NVMe for $200

That is a good move by Crucial, given that Amazon has a history of co-mingling merchandise from different sellers, including Amazon themselves, manufacturer (Crucial) and all the third-party sellers with unknown origins (real, open-box/used, or fake).

Legit Amazon third party sellers are supposed to print a seller FNSKU barcode that covers up the original UPC to uniquely identifies the seller, though I'm not sure if Amazon still co-mingles the product during fulfillment, aka shipping seller C's SSD when you order from seller B or seller Amazon. Though it would be silly for a large scale manufacturer like Crucial or Disney to put a FNSKU on their products.
Amazon takes care of sale and 30 days return, FNSKU or manufacturer takes care of the rest.
Same things as Newegg or CDW, you purchased the crucial/micron product , crucial/micron's logistic channel takes care of shipping and warranty

somone posted about Crucial P3 nvme 4tb for 199. I don't care much about speed, i wonder if the sata Mx500 is more reliable (tbw) than nvme P3 (mere 800tbw). 800tbw on nvme is pretty low, especially on a 4tb sized drive.

MX500 4TB drive: 1000TB, equal to 547GB per day for 5 years

The listed TBW is for warranty purposes. It's not necessarily indicative of the quality or lifespan of the drive. In fact, low end companies like to advertise higher numbers to make their products look more appealing.

The MX500 may hold up better than the P3, since they are usually TLC and the P3 is always QLC. The MX500 also has DRAM, while the P3 has to rely on HMB.

My new motherboard will have a PCIe 4.0 interface which will be 12 times faster than SATA.
Are you going to be doing anything where the difference is likely to be noticeable? Most people aren't.

FBA 3rd party sellers can setup their account to use the item's barcode only and not FNSKUs at all. It's why there are so many Just Launched Chinese sellers on the marketplace and has been going on for 10= years. Amazon doesn't care about stopping the fakes, apparently.

Amazon are offering the 2TB at the $108 price and they gave me 10% back for using Prime Visa. I think it applies to a bunch of Crucial SSDs.
