Do you know how incorrect that statement is?

All tool batteries are powered by LiIon cells that range from an absolute 2.8V minimum to 4.2V maximum. That gives 3.6 volts "average". 5 cells make the most basic battery. 5 x 3.6 = 18V. That's how Ryobi choses to advertise their batteries. The average voltage between fully charged and fully discharged == Honest.

Other companies chose to use the maximum voltage only when almost right off the charger and not used which would be 4.0 to 4.2V. 5x4 = 20.

You get no additional voltage, no additional power (wattage) out of same AmpHour battery between one advertised at 18V vs 20V. 18V 4 AH battery from Ryobi is the exact same amount of power as a 20V 4AH from another company due to the stretching of nominal voltage rating.

A Ryobi battery fresh off the charger is usually at least 20.5V without load. That's going to be the same for any manufacturer.

If you buy the promo, you can return either the battery set or the tool individually for a pro-rated amount. The pro-rated amount for each depends on the normal cost of the tool you attach to the promo. So if you are just buying the promo for the batteries and don't want the tool, attach the most expensive tool available to your promo bundle (if it is still available that would be the belt sander, orig. $189). Then after you receive the bundle return just the sander. Your net cost for the 2 batteries and charger will then be only about $34. If you bundle a $79 tool like the reciprocating saw, then the ratio changes and your net cost on the batteries is about $55, and the net cost of the tool is cheaper.

When I first clicked on the batteries, it showed + free tool and literally showed the hedge trimmer. But when I added seperately it didn't apply the combo so I started over, and click add the free box and hedge trimmer is not an option and the picture on the add now says + Tool and not a hedge trimmer.. Pretty bummed out.

*I see it has it's own SKU.. can I still do the battery return on this ?

Why is the good inflator P747 not included in Ryobi days? On a side note, they used to offer the 6.5" circular saw. For the last few years they downgraded it to the 5.5" cheapie version. I wish they would have a brushless Ryobi days category for a few bucks more with 2 4amp HP batteries. I was not a marketing major but I know what people want. This rinse and repeat stuff gets old after a few years.

If the brushless impact was the high torque model, this would be the deal to get but unfortunately it's not. I have the high torque one and, while heavy, it's just a beast. Wife had a flat on the interstate in a very high crime part of town a few weeks back and called in a panic. I rushed over with a floor jack and the high torque impact and had the spare on for her in like 3 minutes.
