Do you know how incorrect that statement is?

All tool batteries are powered by LiIon cells that range from an absolute 2.8V minimum to 4.2V maximum. That gives 3.6 volts "average". 5 cells make the most basic battery. 5 x 3.6 = 18V. That's how Ryobi choses to advertise their batteries. The average voltage between fully charged and fully discharged == Honest.

Other companies chose to use the maximum voltage only when almost right off the charger and not used which would be 4.0 to 4.2V. 5x4 = 20.

You get no additional voltage, no additional power (wattage) out of same AmpHour battery between one advertised at 18V vs 20V. 18V 4 AH battery from Ryobi is the exact same amount of power as a 20V 4AH from another company due to the stretching of nominal voltage rating.

A Ryobi battery fresh off the charger is usually at least 20.5V without load. That's going to be the same for any manufacturer.

If you buy the promo, you can return either the battery set or the tool individually for a pro-rated amount. The pro-rated amount for each depends on the normal cost of the tool you attach to the promo. So if you are just buying the promo for the batteries and don't want the tool, attach the most expensive tool available to your promo bundle (if it is still available that would be the belt sander, orig. $189). Then after you receive the bundle return just the sander. Your net cost for the 2 batteries and charger will then be only about $34. If you bundle a $79 tool like the reciprocating saw, then the ratio changes and your net cost on the batteries is about $55, and the net cost of the tool is cheaper.

I saw this blower when the preview deal was listed as one of the options

RYOBI ONE+ 18V 90 MPH 200 CFM Cordless Battery Leaf Blower/Sweeper (Tool Only)

It's in stock for pick up or delivery but why is it no longer listed as a free tool? Kicking myself for waiting but it seems like it should work. I also tried adding both to cart in both orders. Oh well

Battery drops to 35 if you use the Lincoln park Home Depot in Chicago. I'm from texas. Would I be able to pick up the batteries for 35 and cancel the pick up from Lincoln park?

you know the batteries come with a 3 year warranty right? I've only had one battery and charger go bad over the many years I've been using batteries but they did me right with warranty a couple years in.

Last time I tried something like that they wouldn't let you choose two different pickup locations , but maybe that's changed since

Confirmed this works. Set the battery pickup for my location and changed the belt sander pick up to Lincoln Park Chicago. Order went through and immediately cancelled the sander pick up via the app. Final order came out to $34. Slick.
