These are the softest wood I've ever seen. I dropped my screw driver on the lid of one and it almost stuck, leaving a nice gouge. I bought about 8 of them to use to make computer desks with an Ikea tabletop (see JayzTwoCents on YouTube) but if you're not keeping them out of the way they're going to get scratched up REAL quick. If I had to do it again I'd probably just buy the Ikea Lack drawers for about $20 more (at least when I bought them), even though the Ikea ones are particle board they're sturdier than these ultra soft pine boards.
