The tools work great. The convenience of electric is super. But I am mad I am going to have to drop $500 already on some new batteries. There is no way I would even come close to $500 of gas at this point.
I'm not saying don't go electric/EGO, just be aware that you will be replacing these batteries MUCH FASTER than you anticipate. Don't go electric because you think it will be cheaper in the long run - it won't be.

My lawn takes right around my 9ah worth of batteries for full mow, trim, edge, and blow sidewalks if I don't let it get unruly. We'll round up to 10ah and assume $0.10 per KWH, which is more than I pay (again rounding up). That come out to 0.56 KWH (56V x 10Ah), if you assume 1 KWH due to charger inefficiencies (rounding WAY up) we come out to $0.10 per mow/trim/edge/blow.
I agree the tools & batteries are expensive, but replace when you need new stuff anyways and it's less of a killer. The real benefit is being able to always have a full "tank" to do your work, never having to go to gas station, no storing gas, no extra gas at end of season that sits for months, and (for me) no mixing gas for trimmer/edger!
I'm only ariund a year in, but no sign of bad degradation of batteries like others had mentioned, hoping to never have those issues! 🤞
I have an Ego Mower. Will this battery work in it?
And will it work with this edger and trimmer? B/c I want to replace my old black and decker one.

$130 for a highly rated (well reviewed) 5.0 Ah battery is… maybe not the worst idea I've ever had.
We'll see.
My 2 and 2.5's still seem to carry a decent charge. (As does my 10.0 that came with my mower.)
