Did some Makita battery shopping this morning for some 3ah batteries, but ended up with this product. $/ah seems like a good deal on this product compared to the other sizes. Only compared against big box stores. Amazon and Ebay will be cheaper but I've heard there are a lot of knock offs out there.

Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Personally, for this price I'd rather wait on a sale that has a tool + free batteries. I've about 14 or so batteries and have never bought them individually.
That said, if you need batteries now, this isn't too bad for a battery only deal.

I guess at some point you don't need any more makita 18v tools.
FREE TOOL SALE
They have several options to choose from and from the looks of it you can return the battery and charger and keep the free tool for a reduced price

Ya they're for work and the guys can't wait too long. So lukewarm deal it is lol.

Haha agreed. I don't even know why I own a Makita chainsaw when I've never used one before or doing anything related to one. Tool is an expensive addiction for men.
