Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".

I would love to see where you're finding a 6ft top for significantly less than this posted deal? I haven't seen anything since before covid so I don't know how you're blaming SD for the lack of these deals? The market has changed, SD has no control over that. The lowest price I can find was $95 from last fall for a similar birch top... but that was like 9 months ago. The Ikea offerings are thinner and known to sag. If you have a good example you should share so people can make an informed decision on whether this deal is for them.
Excuse me for my different opinion. I think that is not cheaper to DIY build a similar butcher block style bench top if you add the cost of several quality 24" C-clamps and a 24" wide surface planner into the DIY project.
Ordered 5x. Thank OP. I'm using these as temporary countertops until the actual footprint for new cabinets are in place. Then they go to garage, garden, and outdoor kitchen worktops. The others I'll rip in half for some solid wood 12"x72" floating shelves which is much cheaper than anything offered currently for that size and thickness.
Same here. I have no immediate use for these wood tops but may still get a few. The price is too good to pass. Rip them into 12x72 is a good idea. I may make a balcony bar table from it.
I'm more intrigued to learn about these stores that sell Amazon returns. Tell me more?
In Kansas City at least we have several big ones. One is called Retail Rebel (which I think is in Iowa too). The other is Cargo Largo. There are not only Amazon returns but from other stores like Bed Bath and Beyond, Bestbuy, Staples, Macys, Kohls, Kroger, Samsclub. They also have a weekly auction where they auction off pallets of some of the most random stuff (pallet of Hilton towels, another pallet full of vacuum cleaners, pallets of appliances, computer parts, you name it). A few people in Kansas City make a sizable amount of income reselling these on eBay and Facebook marketplace.
They usually open up in old grocery stores. Being from OKC we've never had any there so it might be dependent on how much of a transportation hub your city is. I've bought thousands of dollars of stuff from these stores for a couple hundred dollars. Most of my impulse purchases I wait till they are on sale at these stores and buy

Agreed, but also understand (the down votes) that most people aren't set up to do this on their own. Blessed to have a 13" planer and tons of clamps and cauls to get it done. Slickdeals for the planer, the spare blades, most of the clamps, the glue, the table saw blades, and the table saw. So technically, I just need a slick deal on the 2x4s now.

Would it be a impulse purchase? Or More like a strategic purchase!
Which 36" deep tops did you end up going with? I've been on the hunt for some too.
I used a slightly different option for my 36 inch depth computer desk. I picked up a solid core wood slab door (no hole for the handle and no mortising for the hinges) at home Depot for about a hundred bucks. I trimmed down the length a little bit, ran some wood trim all the way around the edges to give it a cleaner, nicer look, and then used steel piping for the legs and frame. Turned out absolutely great!
It's still a decent deal for this top. let me tell you, this thing is heavy when you are the only one lifting and loading with no help. can't be helped as I mainly go solo.
Last time there was a deal like this was on apr 5th for around 103.
I don't have the link for SD. You will have to search husky table top here to find the last time this went on sale.

Wondering if they have wider block to make a mid century modern dining table by adding pin legs?
LL Flooring sells rubber wood tops in wider dimensions. I recently bought a couple for projects and the prices were very good. They market them as table tops and are found on their website on the same area as butcher block tops.
