But, gotta tell ya, I bought one of these about 5 years ago and love it. No carb issues. No gas. No oil. Starts up every time. Light, quiet. Have blower, weed thing, and hedge clippers that all use the same batteries.
Yup -- sounds like a great alternative to me...
Meanwhile, I did have to replace a $15 plastic part on my 4 year old Ryobi mower (purchased 4/2019) this year, and other than blade sharpening (which I do at home), have had to do nothing else to it. Paid $329 for the mower, battery, and charger.
It's been raining so much lately, my grass has exploded. My last mow was through ~8" grass, and the mower had zero issues with it, even while using 4 year old batteries. I don't think your "I could go and buy a $100 gas mower every year for 5 years" is the flex you think it is.
Don't get me wrong -- I don't see anything wrong with folks choosing to use gas powered yard equipment. The US is a free country. What I do have a problem with is folks crapping on a product they've obviously not experienced, complete with a whole bunch of made up excuses.

Mine is Brigg Stratton engine started each pull, fill gas 1 time every 2 week, cutting each week, oil change every 2 year, take forever to use up 2 Gal of gas, haven't changed spark or anything since 8+ years, no winterize (no winterize for Hitachi trimmer and blower too), I want it to break but that sucker keep running.
Edit: I don't have too much drama with the gas lawn equipments, some time I want to switch to electric tools but wife blowing her lips when I mentioned about it.

Looks like blower comes with 2x 4 amp batteries. The trimmer with 1 6amp battery.
Quiet
Zero maintenance
No fumes
No running to gas station
No more smelling like gas
Instant startup everytime
