definitely not a fancy fan, but, reasonably quiet at the highest speed, barely audible on the middle speed, and silent on the slowest. only minor niggle (mentioned by tri1914) is that the single light means it's basically directional, even with the frosted glass. i skipped the stock bulb entirely and put in a compact 100w replacement led bulb (i think the socket is only rated for something lame like 40w), which helps, but the room has another table lamp, etc. for alternative lighting. it does do a quick dim/fade-out when turning off.
the switch to reverse direction is accessible without removing the light kit. if a super-clean look is what you want, this does not have a shield/ring thing to cover screws at the top, but they're discrete enough and colored the same as the finish.

This should allow easily swapping out the included 60W equivalent LED lamp with a 100W equivalent LED lamp.
That's still very little light for some settings, but double the light output of the original included source and certainly functional in some settings.
Good luck!
