You can find the Lenovo P11 Pro on sale for as low as $220 but if it goes to $230, I would JUMP!!!
The P11 Pro is about the same price but....
1. Almost no bloatware
2. OLED screen, it is soooo much better when watching movies
3. CPU is MUCH faster
4. Runs Android 12 and will get updates including Android 14 (this is for the P11), I would think Amazon may bet that but at what cost (using their eco system)?
It really is a no brainer.
I will say that it use to be... Fire Tablets were best value by far (I own a 2018 Fire HD10) but not so much today. And XDA Amazon Tool Box no longer disables Amazon apps, including targeted advertisements.

AT LEAST 5 yr update support (some are seeing 7!)
Crazy good battery life
Crazy better performance (and if you step up to the iPad Air or Pro, they have a fair chance at being faster than your PC too)
Build quality
Better quality apps (plus the AVERAGE Android user doesn't use a SINGLE app that's not available on Apple Store).
Much less malware exists
Designed in the **USA**
Disadvantages?
OEM pencil costs more (but is better)
Other OEM add ons are more expensive (Some but usually Samsung is on par)
iOS apps are very occasionally more expensive
iPads are more expensive (actually if you calculate TCO to even 4 years, iPad wins)
Btw, I've have and have had many Android tablets including a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8.
I also have many Fire tablets (the Amazon Kids+ subscription content is unmatched anywhere). If this isn't the first one where performance generally stinks, esp w any multitasking at all, it'll be the first.
I might buy it just bc i like trying out new stuff, eso from Amazon… before they quickly replace or discontinue.
Btw, just in case you have any Amazon Halo stuff or subscription, they just announced they're closing it all down and it won't work soon.
No wonder why the devices division is going down and they have to fire 9000+ people, someone is doing extremely poor product lifecycle management
Keep away from amazon fire/echo/kindle at all costs to save yourself frustration.

Totally agree. BUT, when you can pick up an Amazon Fire on sale or refurb for around $100 or even less then it starts to be in contention again. You just have to be aware of the limitations.
And I still think it's a great little kids tablet. Especially with their warranty if you get the kids version.
