Seems like this is the lowest price on the web that I can find for a brand new version of this eMoped. the last time this deal was posted, it was $1899.99 from Best Buy over a year ago (expired). The price is $1699.99 on the Segway website directly--brand new.

I think these were classified as "ebikes" when they first came out. They have "pedals" that sorta work. Only positive for these is you don't have to register it I guess. Save up for the electric vespa instead if you need something similar
Max speed 20 mph? How's this more than just a heavy escooter?
You can do so much better for this amount of money. Too slow, it weighs a ton, awkward to pedal on, not terribly powerful for hill climbing reportedly. There are lots of reviews on youtube, I think it's a bad move.

I was really hoping the answer would be "it has actual working turn signal lights placed high up enough for cars to notice & not jankily installed with a 3rd party mod." But I just checked the website hoping to see that, and haven't found any mention of turn signals.
Shame because at this sale price, it's arguably cost-competitive with a segway "just a heavy escooter" like you just mentioned, plus a handful of less-janky 3rd party mods (e.g. suspension, seat, etc.)

Honda Navi slightly more expensive...100mi per gallon. Way faster.
I admit this scooter looks cool and modern. However, the performance is lacking. I don't want to use something that can't keep up with traffic.

Link to something so much better for this amount of money?

This isn't really meant for street riding. It's more in the scooter category. Here in AZ it can go anywhere a bike is allowed to go.

You might even find older ones cheaper.
It would be extremely uncomfortable or impossible to pedal. Is this meant for kids?
