Apparently glue comes off screen over time?
-(Major deal breaker for me if the glue can come off. Not sure if this is the same for the other version.)
Battery Bulging Problems?
Older Gen CPU
Charges through USB-C, but doesn't support USB PD.
-I'm still a noob with the charging stuff, but I think this may lead to overcharging
Notes
I tried out the fingerprint scanner and it doesn't have any issues for me...
---Similarities---
Around the same IPS panel colors
Both have an expandable m.2 SATA memory compartment and only accept SATA m.2 SSDs
Both have the same iGPU (Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 80EUs)
Both have soldered RAM

My biggest gripe honestly is the clicky-ness of the trackpad, which some might enjoy. I'm used to my lenovo which makes no sound, this one has a very audible "click". It's not something that would sway me from buying again though.
There's also a youtube review that shows you how to crank up the performance, not sure if the same is true on this. It does come at the expense of battery life.
If you don't need the touchscreen, I think the 11th gen deal is better overall.

I bought it and used the 11th gen version for a week with the exact same opinions you have. The only exception is that I don't have an issue with the trackpad because I don't click it. I always tap and never click on it. If you're wondering about dragging, you can just do a tap before holding to drag stuff. I feel like people still click the trackpad because of older generation laptops, but it's really no longer needed. Maybe unless it's for someone with hand problems who can't double tap fast enough to drag.
To be honest, this is not a laptop that someone that would upgrade would buy. That's not knocking it down. It's not for an upgrader user-group. Someone who wants something that works,is cheap and has acceptable general capabilities, would love this thing.
It's not for AAA gamers, just like it's not for upgrading
