OP says it has a sodimm slot, so you can go higher than 16GB, albeit constrained by 8+__GB for whichever sodimm capacity you add. UEFI prolly allows at least 8+16GB = 24GB, which is plenty for VMs, containers, large datasets, etc. 8+32GB would be awesome.

Imo, this is a monster deal if you can get it. Even has 'H' class cpu!

Agree with everyone else on Bestbuy Excellent being hit or miss. I've had better luck with Amazon Warehouse excellent.

It's a rare GPU. I didn't know it existed either.

VRAM is sort of like RAM - painful if you don't have enough, but doesn't do anything if you have too much. So it depends on the stuff you do with it and whether it requires more than 4GB (higher resolution gaming like 1440p+, or GPU computation like crypto mining and training models).

Does the USB pd port mean it can be charged from there? Tried looking it up but does not specify. I see a barrel connector, but it's just really annoying to be carrying a bulky charger.

I've bought dozens of open box laptops and tv's from BB in store. Often they're new with plastic wrap still on or just need some minor marks wiped away with a cloth. The manager will often discount the item even more.

Getting open box shipped is much more of a gamble.

I got in on the ASUS ROG Strix G15 "Open Box Excellent" deal recently and that laptop shipped pretty much in brand new condition. Everything was still wrapped in plastic and the CrystalDiskMark report showed only 15 hours of use. Sounds like it's just a lottery.

I pulled the trigger. Ordered here in Champaign, IL for pickup tomorrow. Open-Box Satisfactory on website, Condition: good on the email confirmation.

I will let you know my observations tomorrow. It was 633.99 + tax.

It is not. The 6GB 3050 is meant for lighter and thinner 'creator' laptops like this and has a cut-down memory bus from 128-bit to 96-bit.

Agreed. I looked at this one in the store and the 1080p OLED looks super grainy. The upgraded model with the i9 has a 3k screen and looks crisp and clear.

I just received it, it is still in the box with all the docs, cables, everything, no damage at all,

The OLED screen is beautiful but it does have a lot of reflection and it's running pretty hot even thought I am not pushing it really hard, just installing windows updates.
