As someone who may or may not work for this company I would highly encourage you to avoid anything "reconditioned" aka it's easier and cheaper to sell the returned item without checking it and replacing it if it's actually broken.

Everything factory reconditioned item I've gotten over 5lbs has arrived practically demolished since direct tools likes to choose an oversized box and use 3 pieces of brown paper as packaging.

Non sense. I've ordered atleast 10 items, all arrived perfectly packed.
I ordered a Scroll Saw with them and it was broken when arrived, returned it and requested a replacement. Then I repeated this process two more times until I realize they can't pack or FedEx just hate me or maybe both. Otherwise, anything small has been no hassles.

any feedback on the electric battery lawn mowers?
I bought the 40v HP model for my 1000 sqft lawn and it works pretty well. Definitely not as a good as a gas mower as it leaves some stragglers up after I'm done and it also sucks when it is wet, but overall pretty nice and I can do my entire yard is 30 minutes at 40% battery. If I had a bigger yard I think I'd stick to gas tbh. You could certainly have 2 batteries on hand and put one in the reserve, but unless you have a pretty small/medium yard I wouldn't bother.

As usual, their exorbitant shipping charge ruins the deal. And this "Memorial Day" sale is worse than anything we've seen for a while. I remember 35% off site wide a few weeks ago and it wasn't even a holiday!

Of course anything decent isn't available to ship. Typical.

Both items I want are not available for shipping. The ryobi brushless miter and table saw. 😞

200CFM/90MPH Blower w/ 2Ah battery and charger. Specs looks weak on paper, is it ok for basic leaf blowing?
No, that is waay to weak for anything other than blowing grass clippings off of pavement. I just bought 95mph 450cfm blower and I'm considering returning it.

All the 50% off string trimmers seem to be unavailable for shipping. Bummer, otherwise some good (cheap) stuff here.
Chainsaws are not a deal despite 30% off. I've been watching them for about a year, and these prices are meh. There have been better sales on them at least (I'm being indecisive on the purchase).

Should had gotten the Ridgid 8ah battery when it was on sale for 100 bucks at the beginning of the year.

Factory blemished are indistinguishable from new and come packed tight and safe in their retail packaging. Factory reconditioned are already used and are thrown into a big box with little padding and a large risk of arriving damaged. I only order blems from this outfit, unless it's something I can go to the store to get.
As implied but not implicitly stated factory reconditioned is just the tool. It is a loose tool put in a box. I my case it was fine the box was an appropriate size. It was a 15 guage ryobi finish nailer. But the paper it was packed with was not much cushion. And I can see issues if several items are tossed in a box. Still the price is good and I will order factory reconditioned again especially with non ridgid tool. With ridgid factory blemished qualifies for the LSA factory reconditioned does not.

Agreed completely. They do not advance ship, need to return broken item first an then they re-ship. IT's like 2-3 weeks. Lame if you need the items now.
Absolutely if I needed it now, I would shop elsewhere. But on items I don't need immediately the savings are worth it.

I got a reconditioned blower ash's battery that came brand new with the recon burn in mark, so YMMV depending on the product. Got a drill recon that was obviously not new but working fine so far. It was dirt cheap so it's my beater drill in the car.

I bought it for my upstairs patio and it works OK on leaves and spinners. I have the Ryobi stick vac upstairs, so always have a battery handy.

I have the 40v blower and mower in a detached garage. +1 on a bigger one if you're only buying one.

I haven't bought anything there since they added the 14.99 shipping, I rather buy new at home depot spend a few bucks extra.
