Samsung just gave up on their own OLED and will be buying from LG.

Does that mean QD-OLED is dead?
According to the Stop the FOMO YouTube channel (and my memory of that video), they are giving up on mini led/high end QLED TVs, because China took over production of those panels, so they don't have control. So they will still sell QD OLED as their most expensive TV, but will have basic LG OLED panels for their 2nd tier TVs. It's still not known if they will even have a Tier 3 TV using mini LED at all and he expects them to focus on very cheap TVs supported by ads. It's all interesting, but I don't think it'll do much to the OLED market.

I've been using Alienware QD OLED for 2 months now. I use it for web browsing, email reading, light productivity all day, and have zero issues with clarify of text, eye strain, etc. I previously used a 32" 1440p LCD, so the QD OLED has slightly higher pixel density. I don't see color fringing or other issues at all from the sub-pixel layout.

Some people appear to be extremely sensitive to it, while most don't see it at all. Since Dell has free returns on monitors, you could always try it out.

I do agree that if you do full screen (or any sort of static window) productivity work all day, QD OLED probably isn't for you, since you will eventually get burn-in. If you work with tiled windows that you move around during the day, then I think you'll be fine. I'm always shifting around windows and their placement, just how I use my desktop, but maybe I'm an outlier.

Why are people paying so much money for 1440p? I don't get it. What is this? the 2010s?
Infinite contrast and perfect blacks, perfect motion clarity, zero light bleed, etc.

4K ain't everything.

This is the current pricing for OLED which is the lowest it has ever been.

The 1-year warranty with no burn in coverage on this is pretty disappointing, compared to Dell/Alienware's 3 year w/ burn in coverage on the AW3423DWF.
Yep the little extra for the Alienware is so worth it even if the Samsung came with the same length of warranty Dell is miles ahead in customer service for warranty repairs.

Good price but I'm tempted to hold out for v2 that's supposedly coming out soon
just saw there is a 240hz g8 coming. every single 240hz Samsung monitor I've tried (3 g9s, g7, and g8) were all completely trash. horrid qc. hopefully this is different but I don't trust their 240 displays

QD OLED 2023 / v2 panels and the inclusion of this technology on the impending release of the New QD OLED monitors from Samsung slated to be released in the next 3 months. Both monitors have receieved a new IRRA agency rating. It seems Samsung is upgrading the 34" G8 OLED for 2023 and introducing the New Super UltraWide 49" OLED.

I purchased this monitor 64 days ago and use it for work/gaming and it already has burn in. Samsung refuses to replace. Buyer beware.
