Also FYI WWDC starts Wed and the M2 Studio launch is anticipated. That should trigger clearance pricing of the M1 models, perhaps w 1TB+ SDDs.

I am selling my m2 pro because I just replaced it w/ a mini pc with more power for $400, and I can update: Wifi/BT, RAM, storage, and add SATA all inside. I have tired of Apple's gimping of products where going from 512GB to 1 TB costs them $3 and am no longer supporting this. I am keeping my MBP because IMHO nothing in the windoze realm even comes close.
In any case you can easily expand the storage w/ a TB SSD which will be many times cheaper than Apple's ransom and you can keep it even if you upgrade.
This studio should be enough juice for many years to come for most people, and the price isn't terrible its just 2-3x more than an equivalent PC with the same power except you need to use Windows or Linux. This is a pretty stacked machine (sans SSD).
Until and/or if Apple puts AV1 enc/dec on the chip, it's no bueno for me. My cheapo minipc has AV1 dec, I really want AV1 enc like an Intel ARC.

The NPB7 is like $120 more and that will go toe to toe with a studio.

I knew exactly what my needs were and this machine is great for me. As for the 512 GB storage space, I have 10 TB of NVME/Thunderbolt storage connected to it, and that's working out great for me.
It's possible that there might be something new released at WWDC which is just around the corner, but it sure as hell wont be as cheap as the price that this machine is currently on sale for.

How do you have your storage connected? Curious!

There is a new Zen4 AMD one coming out and the 13th gen Intel. The 13th gen intel doesnt really bring anything except USB4/TB so I saved the $120. The Zen4 one is a different gig. It can do light gaming and is like 20% more powerful than the NAB6 (but a few hondo more). https://store.minisforu
I'm typing this up on the NAB6. I would suggest to get a preconfig (you can always change or add storage) because it comes w/ an SSD cooler AND legit Windows 11 pro.
