90 watts is adequate for 99% of home theaters. People greatly exaggerate the amount of power necessary.

eARC is a big asset if you want to pass Atmos or lossless PCM from the TV back to the AVR, be it through a console you have hooked up to the TV or an app you are using. That's probably the only thing you really need (I think the X2300 has ARC but not eARC). If you have that, there's no reason to keep going on the upgrade carousel since the TV itself is the only component in the chain that truly needs to be able to handle VRR and the rest of the newer 2.2 features. Plug your gaming consoles into the TV direct, send everything else (whatever you still have) to the AVR, and have eARC enabled and you're going to be good for a long while. Spend the extra $$ on the TV or speakers.

And if you're not gaming, then there's basically no rationale to be heavily invested in one of these anyway -- not unless your receiver is really old and in need of replacement.

This IS a great deal though. I've been through recent Onkyo and Sony AVR's to test them out, and I'm happiest with the 2019 Denon I have (x4500) with the higher end Audyssey. If the Audyssey in this AVR works half as well (I have not tried it, only the XT32 version) then it really makes it a phenomenal deal. The Onkyo I tried (7100) was like a featherweight by comparison and sounded so weak, even with the much touted Dirac Live being implemented (and I did calibrate my system with it, and it still sounded terrible).
This is two steps down from XT32 but you can add the Editor App which is a definite benefit.
I've actually never used it with this version so not sure how big a benefit.

But you're talking about Onkyo and this is Denon. Hopefully they do up zone 2/b differently.

Currently I have a Yamaha 7850 will play 5.2.1 and then through the zone b pre outputs and a second amp plays the LR in the kitchen speakers. It's nice it somehow plays atmos and stereo tracks at once.

Anyways this purchase is for a different TV with 5 speakers so but I do hope to zone b the patio speakers off it. Hopefully denons app is better than yamahas
That Yamaha appears to be what I need! How does it handle HDMI and CEC?

I bought an Onkyo last year from Costco because it does have line level outputs, but not for main channels, just zone 2, which is what I needed to power my outdoor speaker amps.

I was using a cheap optical to analog DAC on my HK, but that receiver got to be very erratic.
I wanted my Onkyo to simply send the L&R front channels to Zone 2 L&R but it wouldn't do it unless it was one of the built in apps or an analog signal.

I bought my Onkyo specifically because it does have a DAC for the zone 2 output. I even verified with Onkyo support to be sure before I bought it. I did have to return the first one because Costco dropped the price a week after I bought it and wouldn't give me an adjustment. My TX-NR6050 sends digital signals out the analog Zone 2 to my outdoor speaker amps just fine. I stream music from an Echo link via optical connection, from the Sirius/XM app from a Google Chromecast with Google TV via HDMI, as well as any content from the TV itself. I have not had any issue with it.

I don't use Atmos, so I can't speak to that.
Aha! So the 6050 does it. That's great to know. I have the 757 which is the one before it I think.

U miss the projector at all?
Nope. Going from 110" 1080P (it's an old BenQ projector) to 83" OLED isn't even fair to the pj.

Yes this always gets pigeon holed into power/watts.
How much/many you need varies widely and many factors to consider.

Just look at those 703's, Polk's says:
"Recommended Amplifier Power Per Channel:20 watts → 200 watts"
Case in point, much of my gaming is after my wife goes to bed and at "as low as I can turn it down and still hear things" volume levels... not a lot of power used per channel.

Anyone think this could be a pricing error by Adorama with how the price shows up differently sometimes?

I also got Best Buy to match the price via chat support. It did take a while though. That will give me some more time to decide Stick Out Tongue

Mine changed to shipped status with a tracking number. Either it's a price mistake and they're shipping it, or it's just a REALLY great deal. Seems like they would have adjusted it by now.

It says "Regular Price: $799.00 Sale price ends on 06/05/23" so I doubt it is an error.

It does just fine. It's older so no HDMI 2.1 for PS5. I would assume the newer V6A functions the same. I looked at it when I was in Best Buy yesterday picking up this S970H.

Was the Sony the STR-AN1000 ? What were your thoughts if so. tia

For anyone interested I got BB to price match. I did it over the chat on their website. They asked me who would they would be price matching and to send the link. I did and that's all it took. He adjusted the price himself AFTER I purchased it on my card.

Might be because I'm in NY but I dunno. Might as well give it a shot as it was a seamless process for me.
