Here's a comparison video to watch, but it has the 8600k, which is the higher end version of your cpu...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xic6Sfq
Depends what you do with it.
Fingers crossed the motherboard somehow comes back in stock...

Repped - THANK you so much, this is exactly the kind of comparo I've been looking for (but only via articles and websites, didn't think to look to YouTube for this kind of thing).
So for me (or gamers really) totally not worth it. It really looks like you won't notice a difference in performance from a five year old CPU unless you are running Cinemark benchmarks for a living!
ASRock DDR4 motherboard bundle is $242 after promo code listed. 32GB DDR4 cost around $60 currently

This is kind of a weird reaction. First, VERY helpful video, thanks!
But you seem to be laughing at the premise of upgrading from the i5 8400 as if it's a slam dunk, but did you watch the video you posted?
Unless you are constantly doing 3 very specific (niche?) tasks, then the resounding answer I got from that was 'no'.
And 'hells no' if you're mostly considering upgrading for gaming.
