Not sure what your question is exactly. The USB-C to MagSafe cable and power adapter are always included and do not have to be bought separately.

Off topic bu I have like $800 Apple Store credit, I want to buy something that I can resell and recoup most of the money. Any ideas?
buy the headset they're selling for $3500.. you'll def be able to get 100% your $$ back but you'll have to spend 2700$ more.. otherwise, no.. nothing you buy from apple will have a 100% return.. you'll lose at least 20-30% on anything you buy and try to resell new. maybe even lose more bc no one is buying apple stuff.
fyi. i'm in the same boat but only $600.. and i'll prob just end up waiting until the apple quest 2 comes out and spend the $$ on that

If you do any sort of programming, don't get the 8gb version. Learn from my mistakes

I started using Macs before many of these people were even born because they allowed me to get stuff done. And were repairable. And lasted many years, and supported for most of that time. Tim Cook's Apple is no longer that. Apple is no longer for the rest of us. It is for Wall Street, full stop.
Another fairness for Tim Cook, the first RAM soldered MacBook was 2008 MacBook Air, which Steve Jobs proudly showed off from manila envelope, I think.

What is the Apple Quest ? Or are you just using Meta's word for a VR headset?

Just placed the order and it's available to pick up on June 13th. For your reference, 8GB + 256GB is good for casual usage, mainly web browsing and Netflix & Youtube, rarely using Adobe Lightroom to edit photos and playing Civilization VI via Steam.
The $150 GC will be emailed to you after you picked up, which means you cannot apply it to this order. According to Chase points are able to redeem Apple GC with 15% off, I use 40K points redeemed $475 GC. I knew the Hyatt would be the best value for Chase points, but I really don't have a travel plan recently Smilie Hope this new model will be a great successor of my current 2020 M1 Macbook Air (traded in for $500).
Total = $1,199 - $150 - $500 - $475 = $74.

I bought a MacBook Pro 14 last week from their education store. Should I return it and repurchase to get the gift card?

Where do you find the trade in value of old macbooks?

Put it towards the new iPhone Pro when it's announced in September. New iPhones don't really go on sale vs Macs or other accessories.

I was thinking if I could buy the m1 for $899 with $150 gift card, but it will actually cost $950 about with tax and probably can see for $700+, but might be difficult

Yeah, I save my Chase points for Hyatt. You can get a night for as low as 5000 points at some of the properties, and many for 8000 points. These rooms would cost $120 to $200 or more with taxes, so can get 2x the value of your points. I also have a Sapphire Reserve, so I can book travel through their portal for 1.5 center per point, so I would never use points for gift cards. But if you never travel, then might as well redeem the points for Apple GCs.

Agree with you. I redeemed 10 nights at Hyratt last year for a road trip from Boston to New Orleans, 8500 pts even able to redeem one night at Hyatt Regency in Houston. I have to say that's the unbeatable deal for Chase points. Everyone should try it before you want to get GC. The GC redeem only for cases like mine. Not recommended for everyone lol.

getting new electronics is experience now

after traveling the world for a few years, trying new countries, food, and languages and doing wild raves with helicopters, nothing beats smelling a new macbook air
