The only thing taken off is the delivery fee. They add 1 or 2 dollars to each menu item to make up for that. And they still have service charges. So basically this membership thing is a lie. It provides no real form of discount.

What and where is this 40% off coupon in which you speak??
Often, if you stop ordering from UberEats they'll send you a promo for 40% off your next order, usually $25+ min.

Thanks for just posting the deal link again here rather than starting a whole duplicate thread on it?

Yeah, I think there are several factors at play here in the finances of millennials. First, they haven't truly experienced a deep recession yet. Anyone over 40 has at least experienced the housing crisis and the dot com bubble disaster. All these kids experienced was the government handing out tons of free checks during Covid. Second, many kids are coming from parents that are successful and don't generally worry as much about money anymore after years of saving. Their kids don't understand what it took for their parents to get there. Yeah, I sound like an old fart but honestly I think I'm spot on.
You got your generations mixed up, these are Gen Z kids.

Millennials are in their 30's and 40's and have experienced their fair share of economic turmoil.

The whole thing was so out of touch and made me feel old because it was my first legitimate "kids these days" moments.
I get smacked in the face with these moments every time I browse Reddit. My favorite is seeing that one meme at least weekly where someone posts a tweet that says something like "can't believe we work 40 hours a week just to survive and people act like that's perfectly normal" and comments talk about being in a 'literal dystopia.'

You're right, that's not normal. For most of human existence until modern times, normal was working dawn to dusk every single day just to survive and that work started when you were like 10 years old. That was pretty much the entire point of having children. Oh boo hoo, you get to be a child for 21 years or longer and then have to work for a living, most likely in an air conditioned space, while other people do back breaking manual labor work to put food in grocery stores so you can do whatever you want most nights and weekends. Literal dystopian hellscape.

Okay, maybe the early millennials but those born after 1988 haven't seen much since the next crisis was 2008 and probably still in college.

Yeah never used this Grubhub+ seems like a scam. First the food in the menu is a lot higher than when I look at the menu of the restaurant from their website. Then on top they still charge service fee or $5. It is a hot mess and prefer to just order and pick up my own food. I don't mind the tipping since that person is the only one doing most of the work but geesh ordering a simple order it comes out to twice as much sometimes and not worth it!

Just cook and save money. Grubhub, Uber eats all of these service are just over price and for the same price you can either pick it up yourself or just buy ingredients from the supermarket for a week Wink

Not every millennial went to college. Talk about "out of touch", the assumption college is a given.

On topic, GrubHub is an easy way to overpay for lukewarm food.

"Enjoy a free year of unlimited $0 delivery fees from all your favorite restaurants, courtesy of Prime."

But the offer page said it's a year, plus another if I sign up by July 5. What gives?

What the universe gives with one hand it takes with the other. Grubhub 'fees' are just going to increase. And I am still trying to understand why restaurants get to Increase the cost of items if you are ordering delivery. Perhaps it made sense during Covid but seriously Chipotle now you are just being greedy
