Depends on your swing speed, if you're a faster swing speed you'll get most out of the XVs. Slower stick with the regular. But splitting hairs really, both you can't go wrong really.
Compression is similar tbh, it's more about ball flight tbh .. as long as you swing over 100mph
It most certainly does. There are no double digit handicap players that need more spin. Double digit players would greatly benefit from a 2 piece urethane ball. 90% of double digit handicap players cannot hit their driver into the fairways and the 10% that can, do not have the swing speed to play a high compression ball. I caddied for these ppl every summer for 4 years at whistling straits during college and currently hold a +1.2 handicap. So take or leave my comment but I saw thousands of double digit handicap players and 99% would be doing themselves a disservice by playing a tour ball, even though most did.
I played with one for 17 holes before I lost it on my second shot on hole 17. No scratches or damages before I lost the ball. My driver speed maxed out around 98mph
Average player should be getting the Q start or Q star tour. The tour will offer more spin around the greens. Seniors should be getting the soft feel. Higher swing speeds and "scratch" golfers should be getting the z stars. When I'm doing, use the Ball fitting guide on the Srixon website, consists of like 3-4 questions.

Depends... Are you a single digit player? What is your swing speed? Do you have a low ball flight and want a higher ball flight?

Doesn't matter if he's a single digit player. What matters is his spin numbers/ shot type and preference around the greens.
