No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

The cost of contract takes care of discounts. If you don't use more than 20 GB then look for mint or ultra mobile. If you are on the go then use T-Mobile or other carriers. It is like a gym we all join to not use much ☺️
I currently pay $54 for Verizon pre-paid, plus $20 for Netflix, and have considered getting Apple TV. With the military discount the T-mobile plan is $75. I'd have to pay extra to keep 4k, but for the most part it's not a huge increase in cost for 24 months, while saving at least $500 and still keeping my old phone. I did ask earlier if there was something I was missing as to why this wouldn't be a good deal but no one said no. Seems pretty good to me, with the only downside being locked in to T-mobile for 2 years.

why not. S21 Ultra TIV is 550 compare to S22 ultra 750. That $50 extra is for better and newer battery plus better camera. Also with newer hardwares. It will be worth more for TIV next year
It'll go cheaper before the next phone comes out. I've upgraded the ultra line for ~$100 each year

Tempted to upgrade since my s22u camera can't zoom past 10x in landscape mode and it just stays blurry.

Looks like a software issue since portrait zoom works fine. Looks like a common issue too.

dropped and cracked my S22U.. wish they will offer same elevated trade in value (like last year) for cracked phones too... asked chat they said it is not coming back this year. H/She was certain about it ...bummer

Nah, don't worry about it some of them talk very confidently, but have no idea what they're talking about. I had to deal with them and called them on their bs. Hopefully it does come back.
I will tell you this, that in my case, I had done the previous deal 3 or so weeks ago for a trade of an uncracked (at the time) S22U to 512GB S23U and literally the day the new phone arrived, my S22U fell with its holder onto the floor of my truck and cracked one edge right where the holder clamped onto it (crappy case without raised sides, crappy holder that I trusted in the vent, and I own the stupidity for even trusting that combo). That curved screen is dicey anyway, so of course it was going to break right at that edge contact with the holder. Well, I was all ready to just return the new one due to seeing that it would cost over $300 (about the same as the cracked trade difference) and figured I'd Hail Mary it and chat with support. The first person in support suggested I just return it to buy me time to get the screen fixed, and to rebuy another in a few weeks. After questioning the lunacy of that idea, the rep asked me to call support, where I got a VERY helpful Sammy rep (named Mclee) who went out of his way to discuss my situation, reviewing photos during our call. He told me to send the cracked phone in stating 'I think I can get you full value, and I'll watch it all the way through inspection, and worst case we can return the trade if it fails inspection, and you can return the new phone. Just let me know the moment you see tracking show it delivered'. I took the chance, and and glad I did. After notifying him of delivery early this past week by replying to his Zendesk email thread which we got going during that call, low and behold, 2 hours later I received an email that there would be no chargeback, and the phone was accepted for full (uncracked) value. The order details then showed 'ManuallyCompleted' on the trade line. Of course this is YMMV, but you if you get the right rep, explain the situation, and more importantly BE NICE, you might luck out with a cracked trade. I would never try that had I not accidentally cracked the thing, but it's nice to know that occasionally real customer service still exists. After so many horror stories of trade experiences, it's good to have faith restored. This was my 2nd Sammy trade, and both went without a hitch, though in both cases I sealed the box in security tape and filmed the whole process of sealing it up and walking it into Fedex to have it accepted. All told, I'm wondering if his/their leniency in my case bodes well for another end of model year special deal where they might again offer the cracked trade/full value promotion officially and very soon. At worst, hang in there another few months and you may be surprised. This 512GB / 12GB S23U is a BEAST, and the battery runs circles around the 128GB / 8GB S22U it replaced.

It doesn't. I tried on desktop with cream color some discounts are applied but they aren't same as shop Samsung app
I have an account with edu and with a note20($340) trade in, I could get any color of the 256gb for $660, or $840 for the 512gb on desktop

If you're not using 0.6,3x,10x or 30x it uses pretty heavy handed digital crop. Similar to what it does at 100x in a way. Non ideal lighting makes that even more obvious. In other words, what you're describing to me sounds normal. I don't recognize what you're describing otherwise.Any links to what it is you're describing?

For people who got s22 ultra during the launch, the warranty has expired. So the 1 year warranty you get with s23 ultra makes paying $250 totally worth it IMO
That's where I am. Batteries seem to start slowly degrading at 2 yrs. Using a friend's s23ultra, the camera seems a little better but not a lot. 250 is worth that and warranty to me. Seems to be the sweet spot for me trading at 1.5 years or so everytime. Then there's always radio improvements that no one considers usually.

That's why the best buy deal is way better, they treat trade-in as coupon and you don't pay tax on it.

I am absolutely convinced that all slow downhill degrading of the s22 series is an attempt from Samsung to have you jump into newer phones. My s22 Ultra lately has been a disaster. All out of nowhere from recent firmware downloads.

Its all part of the sales game.

I remember this happening with my Note phones and being convinced as well. Oddly this one is still fast. T-Mobile variant.

Why would anyone do the T-Mobile offer? Go5GPlus sounds like the biggest ripoff ever. "Same deal for everyone, new or existing customers!" Just pay us an extra $60/month
