Buying from Samsung charges tax on the full price of the device. Picking up from BB B&M only charged tax on the $250. YMMV but worth a try.

No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.
The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.
They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

People saying its not worth upgrade if over $200. But here is the thing, your S22 ULTRA will be worth around $450 next year and S23 ULTRA will be around $750 so if you decide to upgrade again next year, you just got that $300 back.

I'm waiting simply because it was regularly $200 after TIV last year (even cheaper during June deal which when stacked with CB I actually made over 100 bucks). Certainly won't be as good as the June 2022 deal this year but I'm waiting for $200 or less after TIV again.

$250 is OK deal; my last phone (before I learned to trade up every year) lasted me 4 yrs, so 1.2K MSRP annualized over 4 yrs would be $300 per year. However, I don't really consider S23U at 1.2K as it's 1K on Amazon right now ($250 annualized), less if you buy on Swappa etc.

Also, you get a phone with a fresh battery. After a year of use, phone batteries don't last as long and also drain faster. $300 is worthy upgrade. I have been doing this for the past couple of years. For $300, I just upgrade ir, I wanted Cream but yesterday site was not showing promo price, and it seems they're changing color everyday.

Does that mean I can upgrade without changing my current plan on tmobile. I would love to get the 800 off for my S21 from Tmoile, but only if I can keep my current plan. I am too afraid to give sign in to tmobile account through samsung, just in case I accidentally end up changing something about the plan

I totally get that, but I'm willing to hold out a little longer given the historical deals last year. At the very least, $200 TIV came several times last year, so presumably even this $250 TIV would be repeated again.

You are right. My thing is I went from n20u to s22+, now the plus doesn't have as good of a trade in and especially with buying another plus. I really don't want to up size again to the ultra but that's where the deals seem to be

Paid around $340 total (In california) for 256GB S23 Ultra

Trade in was S22 Ultra

I figure with new battery, new warranty, new screen without scratches - it's okay. The CA taxes on it is ridiculous ($100+ on taxes).

Cant figure out how to get the same pricing on desktop browser as the mobile app so that can invoke the cb offer. Only able to see the $1199 price on desktop while is $999 on app before trade in.

After unchecking the Go5G plan, T-Mobile option will be available. After completing the trade in option, T-Mobile Equipment Installment Program is one of the payment options (see attached screenshots.) I am using desktop only.
