No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

For the 256gb variant?
Yes for the 256gb variant. Changing color didn't change price for me

I'm thinking of upgrading my tired battery, but otherwise fully functional S21 to an S23 Ultra. I held on to this S21 too long. But they're still offering $410 on trade which is more than I could get selling it.

All in with tax I $632 for the 256GB S23 Ultra and $826 for the 512GB version. I can pay with Amazon pay for an extra 5% back, not included in the above calculation.

Is the higher storage and RAM variant worth an extra $200, considering at trade in they don't give you anything extra? Any chance of a deal on the higher version?

Pull the trigger or hold off?

Bait and switch on this one. The ordering process offers the EPP price with trade in. When I went to the checkout page, the price of the phone had increased to full price (less trade in.) I contacted Samsung and was informed they do not permit layering EPP price with trade-in. What's the point of EPP pricing?!?

After unchecking the Go5G plan, T-Mobile option will be available. After completing the trade in option, T-Mobile Equipment Installment Program is one of the payment options (see attached screenshots.) I am using desktop only.
Not an option. The next screen makes you add a line or upgrade a line to the Go5G plan. I've tried in on multiple browsers and it all says the same.

The design is about the same... Feature set is identical, if not within striking distance. This is like going from iphone 12 to 13, rather than 14. Minor upgrade.

Based on the Flip 5's new design I suspect the S24/5 will bring better changes.
I agree and it is the same situation my wife is in with her iPhone 12 Pro. No need to upgrade to the 13 and she's holding off on the 14 as well because she is completely happy with what she has.

As far as the S24U goes, I guess we will see what changes they bring. Overall I'm just glad they went back to the Note design. That was why I held on to my Note 9 so long instead of upgrading to the S20-S21 series.

It was $1000 after a few months, so the lowest was $199 for the 128gb s22 8gb ram. Last July, there was a promotion for a watch bundle or save $100 additional dollars, so you could have gotten the lowest model for $100
