The exhilarating G2655 Streamliner Center Block Jr. Double-Cut with V-Stoptail is designed for three simple things-high gain-friendly performance, slick, easy playability and spectacular style. A sleek music machine, the G2655 cranks out the hits with updated features while staying true to That Great Gretsch Sound! that's been a vital component of rock 'n' roll since its inception.
The secret to the Streamliner's sound is twofold-the Broad'Tron BT-2S humbucking pickup and the spruce center block. Designed specifically for the Streamliner Collection, the high-output Broad'Tron pickup spawns improved definition with tighter bass response for robust lows, pristine highs and a throaty midrange. A lightweight spruce center block runs the length of the body, reinforcing the top while eliminating undesirable feedback for volume-friendly performance on modern stages. The Streamliner's sonic power is harnessed and shaped by the traditional control layout-neck and bridge pickup volume controls, a master tone control, master volume control and three-way pickup switching. A fast-playing 12"-radius laurel fingerboard with elegant pearloid Big Block inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets sits atop the white-bound nato neck with a thin "U"-shaped profile-ideal for chord work or fiery riffing. Enjoy rock-solid tuning stability courtesy of the stylish Gretsch V-Stoptail tailpiece, anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and synthetic bone nut.
All the classic eye-catching style you've come to expect from Gretsch is here-vintage-style black control knobs, enlarged F-holes for acoustic projection, elegant aged white binding with upgraded purfling, slick-looking nickel hardware, three-ply tortoise pickguard and arched laminated maple construction. Easy to play while rocking out thanks to its smaller body, the G2655 is a phenomenal instrument for the modern musician who wants to control the stage and the audience while standing out from the pack.

This is a great price for a really good guitar that is light and solidly built. Good bones here: the fretwork is generally great on the Streamliner line, and the build quality is generally better than most at this price point, or even higher. Weaknesses would generally be the electronics and pickups - they are OK, not fantastic IMO, but makes this a great guitar for modding. Swap in some better PAF-type (or alternatively, more Gretschy-sounding TV Jones) pickups, maybe swap out the electronics, and you have a potential monster for cheap.
I can't speak on the guitar, I've always wanted a Gretsch, but I've ordered several guitars from adoroma, never had an issue. Quick shipping and the guitars were as described, in original packaging.

Could you replace that tailpiece with a bigsby? Didnt know if the v-shape would affect the fit.
Bigsbys don't typically use the stop tail stud holes for mounting unless you're using a Vibramate mounting plate, which I'm not sure they make one that fits this application. It would probably cost as much as the guitar. Otherwise it will mount to the end of the guitar using 3 screw holes around the strap button and just lay over the tail piece stud holes. I would think you'd be better off just buying a the Bigsby equipped model.
All these guitar deals are making me crazy. I just bought the Fender Kingman, and other deals just keep dropping like rain. I guess ppl are back to spending their money on going out and not sitting around strumming the gits.

This is probably one of the best guitars under $600 right now. The Streamliner series is new for 2022 and they're incredibly well made guitars for the price. These will take standard humbuckers too for future upgrades.

all guitars are well made these days, even the cheapest ones since they are all CMC'ed....the remainder question is twofold: are they finished correctly (frets with no sharp edges, etc) and what kind of quality is the wood? these are made in Vietnam so are they importing decent wood from Canada or is this Vietnamese driftwood pulled out of the Mekong Delta...

Gretsch wouldn't allow anything like that- these guitars are made with mahogany(nato), spruce, and maple with a laurel fretboard.
Picked this guitar up for my son. . . . now just need an amp, and figured i would ask fellow slickdealers for some recommendations.
He is young (10yo), lessons on acoustic for a year+, is a practice amp all that he needs right now. was looking at the Spark Mini ($160 Used), or Orange Crush ($50 New), but up for other suggestions.

If you want the Bigsby version, they have the T model for $329 on the same site (recommended): https://www.adorama.com/gr2806100588.ht
