Roland sells a KSC-70 stand which fits it. As for folding adjustable stage stands, the keyboard enclosure is fairly tall (from the bottom of it to the keys), so is you want it at "normal" piano height of 28-29", you'll need one that adjusts as low as 23". I use a Hercules Z stand which goes to about 23.5". I think the tops of the white keys are at about 29".
I've been waiting for a discount on this piano for a very long time. Thanks a lot

Good luck! That's a massive rabbit hole you're asking about (if I assume you want both a 'piano like' digital piano with synth capabilities).

Very niche market sadly.

Unless you want to spend well above a grand or two, you may want to look at a Casio PX-560 (or a newer version of that model if it exists- been a while since I looked).

Around $1300. And is marketed as a stage piano + synth. It excels at neither function apparently, but again, for the price it seems to be the only thing in the market. If budget is not a concern there are quite a few options that are $2K+
Thanks, where does the Yamaha CK88 $1500 fit in?

For a very beginner I'd go with the smaller version of this, the FP-10. Same action as this. Costco has a nice bundle for $550 or so, the FP-10 with bench and decent stand and pedal. I'd probably upgrade the pedal.
Thanks for the reply. I don't have that much money so I am trying to pick the best that would work in the long run. I don't have a Costco membership. Any other alternatives?

Would this be a the go to buy for someone that is trying to first time learn a piano? Is this the best deal or should I wait for something better? There is another deal on this website for Korg Lp-380. Just really confused as to what is worth it.

This would be an excellent choice

Some locations (like mine) have it in-store: https://www.costco.com/roland-frp...19453.html (which means no shipping charge)

If you know a relative/friend who you can trust, they can buy you a shop card and you can then buy in-store without a membership. You might be able to use any amount (say $25) and pay the remainder at checkout using a visa card or cash/debit, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Otherwise, as others have stated, this is pretty much equivalent (though no stand and bench). Korg LP-380 is also decent (own one myself), but more expensive.

Is the fp30x a direct competitor of the lp380u in terms of apples to apples comparisons? Or is the fp10 closer to the lp380u?

I don't know for sure as I only have the FP-10 and the LP-380U. But considering that the action of the FP30X and FP-10 is the same PHA-4 action, I don't think they are. Personally, I like the action on the LP-380U a bit more, and the main reason for this is that the keys return faster. Playing certain trills or fast repetitive notes on the PHA-4 action is difficult or impossible without messing them up. And I'm not talking about some quite advanced pieces. However, for a beginner I think either is fine. I think any of these 3 mentioned are fine for a beginner.

PHA-4 (FP-10/FP-30X)
  • Positive: Love the imitation of the hammer striking the string, like the ivory touch of the key surfaces
  • Negative: Keys return a bit too slowly, keys feel cheap/plasticy and a tad noisy
LP-380U:
  • Positive: More quiet action, keys feel more solid and less wiggly, almost like wooden keys
  • Negative: Dynamics (volume, key velocity) is more difficult to control than it should be. I've heard people say this is more noticeable at low volumes.
Overall, unless you're a beginner, I think the LP-380 has a better/capable action in comparison to the PHA-4 action. But it's not perfect, either.

Piano doesn't really work that way because with respect to the pianist, they're like different sized shoes in different colors, very personal.

For beginners, the 380 makes more sense because of the convenience of everything in one place, key cover, stand, pedals.

The 30x deal here is no slouch, but try them at a store if you can. You might have to go to multiple stores.
