Can anyone familiar with both the Slim Pro 7 and ThinkPad T series compare the build quality between the two models?

One person on SD mentioned they know someone with a slim 7 with a broken hinge recently. It's just 1 person but given Lenovo's history with broken hinge, that's worrisome.

T series is build like a tank. You really can't compare as it's made for a beating. Nothing else is going to compare to Thinkpad durability.

I picked this up yesterday for $899.99. Seems great but left speaker seems much louder than right speaker. Anyone else notice this or did I just get a dud?

I picked one up the other day - left and right side speakers sound the same to me. Maybe you 'got a dud' Frown

Laptop is nice, but main complaint is battery hasn't lasted as long as Lenovo claims and fans kick in immediately even when just using a browser. Lots of open box available so people are returning them. Screen is nice but resolution is sort of wasted on a 14".

FWIW I got one a week ago and it's definitely not hot or loud during normal use outside of gaming. Battery life is 8 ish hours under normal use.

My biggest gripe is the WiFi. It has the MediaTek RZ616 which is every bit as awful as stated. With the out of the box drivers it disconnects all the time. The latest WHQL drivers from the windows update website is better but it still randomly switches to 2.4GHz and makes other odd decisions.

I was able to put in an Intel AX210 card at the same time I swapped the SSD and those two upgrades made this a great PC laptop.

But yeah unlike the past few generations of the Pro X and the old "Slim 7 Pro", this one does not run hot/loud.

I haven't noticed any 5ghz wifi issues yet on mine, but I have wifi 5 at home (AC).

Are your speakers lopsided with spoken word? Voice seems to come disproportionately from the left side speakers on mine. Seems its the only real flaw of the laptop so far.

Had this laptop for almost a week already and it's been great. Only time it's gotten loud was playing Valorant on 1080p med/high settings. Got about 300 fps on a match in Lotus. Touching any part above the keyboard was pretty hot. So far, that's only time I remember the laptop being under some sort of stress.

Using Word and got about 6-8 Chrome tabs open is easy for this for sure and for now, I have not had much issues with wifi. Battery life has been okay so far, but I haven't done much tests. I've had it last a full workday writing emails, listening to Spotify, and watching the occasional YouTube video @ 1080p.

I'm liking the screen. I'm coming from a Flex 5 from 2020 and the screen was decent at best, so I have a low standards. The speakers are also pretty good, but not Macbook level.
