I'm a bad influence lol. I'd get this as a spare storage drive and still get a NVMe. Maybe a 2TB or a 4TB NVMe. I have 2 NVMe's, 3 SSDs and 2 HDDs. I plan on swapping my 512GB and 1TB with multiple 2TBs or 4TBs
For just "storage" would you really feel that much difference between an SSD and nvme?
I would still have a 1TB SSD and a few SATA from my old rig, but I dont think I wanna transfer any of them over, start brand new everything and use that for like a cloud server or HTPC etc....

Definitely storage. I make music and video edit sometimes so I keep a ton of plugins and software around. Backups of older setups too. Only difference between a 2.5 and NVMe would be sustained transfer speeds for big files.

No raid atm but I do have a NAS server also. I plan on doing some heavy organization when I get my new drives
