This has been this price for almost a month. I bought it in mid-may for this price.

It works fine but it is an extremely cheap sander and that's clear. I use for preparing pen blanks for turning and it works well, but I wouldn't like to use it on anything even relatively large.

The biggest issue with the tables is they don't get very tight meaning if you apply much pressure at all they "adjust" their angle. I've also stalled the motor sanding small wood blanks on the disc side so it's not very powerful.

With that said I much prefer it to the comparably priced Harbor Freight combination sander.

I've had this for several years and don't have any problem with the tables slipping or the belt stalling. I suspect if you're stalling the disks, then you're pressing too hard. I love how light weight it is. I wouldn't call it a high-quality tool, but neither is it cheap.

Agreed. I've had one for a decade and it still works fine for what it is. If you want something beefy or micro adjustments for professional work, you're going to spend 10x this. For occasional hobby woodworking, this does the trick. Just tighten things down or craft yourself some jigs.

In for one. Only need this for light hobby stuff, like pinewood derby.

If you get the right belts, this is the go-to tool for knife sharpening. Just add a cheap bench grinder with a leather wheel.

For 8$ more you got the 4.3amp 4 x 36 in. Belt and 6 in. version. Seem to be a better deal:

I now realize that I did in fact make a small bracket for the table for the 5" disc to keep it from slipping. A short piece of aluminum with a hole on each end to lock it at 90 degrees. If I could resist picking it up by the table, this may not have been a problem in the first place. Since buying this, I hardly ever use my 4" belt / 6" disc sander combo as it is a cast-iron beast. Even that Delta tool bogs down if you overload the belt/disc.

Had I paid a lot more for it, this would be unacceptable, but making a tool work the way it should have in the first place is half the fun of buying inexpensive tools!

Not necessarily comparable as a 1" and 4" belt have different uses. I have both sizes but use the 1" more.

I agree; the right tool for the job in essence. Apples and oranges considering the 3x36 to this.
