Its one of those things. If you know, you know. Easy money.
That's B.S. Wifey and I apply for at least 6-8 cc's/year and our credit rating is around 830/ea. Applying for a cc makes a tiny hit to your cc rating which goes away pretty quickly.
If your credit rating is so bad that your worried about this, then you have bigger financial problems to solve.
The amount of new accounts opened per year is only a small percentage of the overall credit formula. The majority of your score is based on you debt to income ratio. I open around 4 cards per year and sit around 790-810 credit score. That is still in the range to get the best available interest rates.

Amazon.com Gift Cards: This credit card is available to you if you do not currently have an Amazon Visa or Prime Visa credit card.
II'm positive. I have already made a purchase. I had no Visa cards. The prime store card is just like any other retail card it has no Visa or Mastercard branding on it whatsoever.
How do you handle the old cards? Just leave them there or somehow close the account?
If it's a consumer card with no annual fee, I just let it ride until the bank cancels it for no activity. (if ever)
If it's a Chase business card, I never have more then two active cards. That's because Chase is stingy at extending credit on their business cards. They don't seem to care about how many cards you have but they only extend a certain amount of credit across all business accounts.
The only cards I use are earning a sign up bonus. Once a bonus is achieved it's off to the next card. The net effect is about a 15% discount on anything I buy with a cc. (I love Chase business cards!!)
Didn't get the instant approval, but the forms were mostly auto filled so it was pretty painless. Just provided a few additional details and was approved. $200 gift card added instantly to my Amazon account. Credit score is over 800, but did get dinged 5 points for the hard pull this time.

How long did the follow up take? I surprisingly didn't get instantly approved and will need to wait. Wondering if follow up will be same day or days/weeks out. Thanks in advance if you or anyone can comment!

Maybe you have more than 5 hard pulls the past two years? I have around 750 too and I got approved for $16k, double my store card credit limit.
It's extremely lucrative. The sign on bonuses are worth over $1000 sometimes. It's a very profitable hobby.
Yes they do.
