That's B.S. Wifey and I apply for at least 6-8 cc's/year and our credit rating is around 830/ea. Applying for a cc makes a tiny hit to your cc rating which goes away pretty quickly.

If your credit rating is so bad that your worried about this, then you have bigger financial problems to solve.

The amount of new accounts opened per year is only a small percentage of the overall credit formula. The majority of your score is based on you debt to income ratio. I open around 4 cards per year and sit around 790-810 credit score. That is still in the range to get the best available interest rates.

I assume if im on a shared prime account not in my name and use this card Id still get the 5% CB on orders? Primary account holder has a Prime card too so I'm not sure if it would only give me 3% if orders are placed on a secondary prime card. Anyone know?

Anyone knows how to make it earn 5% again once you remove the card from one account and add it to another Prime account?

It earns only 3% once transferred to new account

No annual charge. I got approved at 19.72% for 25K limit. I've been wanting to switch over from my Synchrony Amazon card anyway so this is great timing.

The true value is the 5% back. It's hard to beat that. Yeah, sometimes you get 5x points with CF on Amazon for a quarter (but with a $1500 cap), but when you spend tens of thousands of dollars on Amazon per year, this is a no brainer. The $200 just sweetens the deal.

As the other 20 pages frequently mentioned, this is marginal, maybe a few points, and disappears fast. Applying for cards is one of the least harmful hits to your credit and most lenders don't even take card applications into consideration when you go to borrow money. Your credit age is the most sensitive aspect here but if you get 10 cards in the next year, then in 10 years you'll have 10 lines of heavily aged credit.. it's the game.
