Yes, in the old days. But not any more. Instead, just buy a $1 BYOP sim for another device and activate/transfer balance. I have done it perhaps 20 times.

If your unlocked phone is capable and ready to be activated with TracFone, then you should be able to transfer the phone number and minutes from one of these activated Orbic phones to your unlocked phone without talking with anyone. I usually find the TF website to be glitchy but the app has been reliable for me.

Have you ever tried to take the sim out and put it in the new phone without having to buy a $1 BYOP sim? My dad bought the Tracfone Samsung A03 bundle about 1 month ago. He took the sim out to put it in his unlocked iPhone 6 Plus. He called me to test and it worked. He did it without telling me otherwise I would have told him not to do so.

It may work for a while but it's not recommended - TF will know it's in the wrong phone (sim is linked to phone IMEI) & has been known to shutdown service.
Safer to just buy $1 sim & move plan/number to the new phone so phone is registered correctly.

Reports from several people having activation issues with these so it might not be a good idea to wait. Only 30 day return policy if there's an issue.
These are really cheap 2019 rebranded VZ prepaid phones so don't expect much.

There's no more CDMA, it's LTE on Verizon.
Sim is linked to phone it comes with, if you want to move plan to a new phone you need a different sim, usually a $1 BYOP TF sim for an unlocked phone (or an inactive TF to reactivate).
The only thing these are useful for is harvesting TF service, they're really cheap flip phones.

Yes you can. I did that already. I purchased Moto 5G with 1 yr Tracfone 1500 min. After 2 months, it allows me to unlock Moto 5G. Now, I'm using that Moto 5G with Mint mobile sim. And the tracfone sim come with Moto 5G, I put in other Tracfone phone and use fine with it. As long you put tracfone sim into Tracfone Cellphone or unlock cellphone that using GSM network. It will work fine.

NO, the phones are NOT UNLOCK. But it will allows you to unlock the phone 2 months after you activate the sim. Make sure you put the sim into that tracfone cellphone for 2 months in order to unlock it. After unlocked, then you could use it with the Mint sim card. That what I'm using right now. Moto 5G tracfone phone unlocked with Mint mobile sim card.

Beware, sim is linked to original phone IMEI. Not recommended to swap without reregistering phone.
Read TracFone policy - at anytime TF can cancel your line if sim doesn't match the original IMEI.
