Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Laptops are still struggling to sell because the 3060 is the previous generation but still priced like a 3070.
Partly but see the ZenBook 14x on sale now at best buy for $800. That was impossible anytime before 2023 , especially this early on for specs like that.
Heck, even the Asus s13 oled with 32gb normal retail is $1399. Last year's it would have been $1799.
Prices have slumped, and then sales just makes it better for consumers.
Suppose companies aren't allocating as much expense and/or cogs towards r&d. It's been long overdue.
Because there are people that consider other factors besides just the GPU. The 16" 16:10 Nebula display on this laptop is amazing even if it's not mini-LED and it's 500 Nits vs the 300 Nits of the Acer. It's a hybrid laptop that can fold back into tablet mode when needed whereas the Acer is not. It's a Ryzen 9 vs Ryzen 7. The overall build quality of this ASUS is so much nicer compared to any Nitro and it's lighter. I look at this as a "creator" and more professional laptop for someone who also games, and you're paying extra for those features compared to someone who just wants a cheaper gaming laptop because the GPU is better and doesn't care about all the other stuff.
For me, I love to game, but I'd pay the extra money for the additional features and a nicer laptop (especially the display) because that means more to me since I use my laptop for a lot more than just gaming.
However, I don't think I'll bite on this until it gets a little bit cheaper. As nice as it is, the 2022 M16 that has a lot of the same features (other than the hybrid design) is often on sale with the 3070ti for the same price as this.

I bought this open box and returned it, make sure you aren't getting spammed with PCI errors in the system logs as that means you got a lemon.
Build quality, battery life, and the screen on this are all top notch. I think I'm waiting until the 3070ti model drops in price some.
Be on the look out for open-box excellent. I just snagged this for $1033 last week. Someone posted it here on SD and probably a handful of people got it but it was still "active" for a few days after.
Also PSA:
This is a 125w mobile 3060 per the device details, which will rival a 100w mobile 3070 probably, and beat out an 80w mobile 3070 of course.
It also has a 90Wh battery and the Radeon 680M iGPU which you might have seen mentioned in a lot of these PC handhelds, it's capable of actually playing a decent amount of AAA games at lower resolution/FPS while just sipping on power.

Old previous gen CPU. Current gen is much faster. Gamers don't care about CPU but why buy an old gen one when the new gen are basically the same prices

Yeah, it's fully capable of gaming but if you want to do audio/video editing or other creative stuff I'd go with intel. The twelfth gen is superior to this and the thirteenth gen is just killer.
