Is this similar to fifa where they use 5yrs old game and just have name changes? Or is this actual legit game comparable to other consoles except for the graphics?

The former. It's pretty heavily driven by micro-transactions, and the experience sucks pretty bad after the "season" is over for experiences like MyTeam challenges, card packs, and playing in MyPlayer. It would only be good if you genuinely just want to go through the myplayer experience or play around with just playing games with current nbas teams/roster
