FYI these deals are usually for non-discounted plans: Magenta, Max, Go5g, Go5g+ (one and simple choice might qualify). Spring customers, military, 55+, metro pcs may not qualify. Either way it's best to confirm if you qualify before adding the line, otherwise it's YMMV if you add it on your own without checking.

Sometimes these deals require going in store and limited time (24-72hrs usually). It's completely free (taxes & fees not included). If you have a tax inclusive plan like magenta, then everything is free (you might still have tax/fees of 10 cents or so... pointing it out since it triggers some people). Free as long as you don't close it. If you removed any lines in past 90 days they must be added before you can add another lime that would be free. If you cancel any lines within 12 months from adding the free line you lose the discount.

You CAN port a number in while adding the free line or later down the road. If you port the number OUT later, you might lose the free line. You can remove lines after 12 months and it won't affect the free line. Generally, you can't get the free line & a free phone promotion, extremely YMMV since it works for a few people, but I wouldn't count on it.

Know the terms and conditions before making a mistake and ranting.

Edit* Terms & Conditions? 'Customers must have the "2023BYOD_P1" segment on their account in Atlas or Tapestry to qualify. Customers with no segment or "2023BYOD_P1 - Inactive" are not eligible. BYOD or FRP purchases only (EIP not eligible for life of line). Device Connection Charge is required.'

These never work with 2 lines for $70 55+ plan. You need to convert to a much more expensive plan to get the "free" one.

As a Tmobile "ONE Plan All in Promo" I've got 2 lines, for which I pay $80. I can never get them to give me a free line add on unless I change my plan to something that's going to cost me more.

How difficult to just open a new checking acct and put $100 in it?
Around here there are no free checking accounts unless you have a large balance or have so many transactions per month. I think the fees start at about $3 per month.

I have Kickstart v1 and the first Sprint ULOU, both converted to the T-Mobile tax-free versions for $20 total. I was told that although I do have 2023BYOD_P1 on my account, I would still need to convert my existing lines to another plan, as "It has to be a line on a pooled plan".

Try ally.com/aspiration.com/etc/etc/etc I just opened an aspiration account since tmo is now requiring debit/ach for autopay discount and aspiration provides cell phone protection for their debit cards (previously was paying with a cc that had protection).

I asked a chat rep - they said I needed to wait for a text message because I'm not eligible yet (I'm on the newest plan Go5G Plus). She said its being rolled out right now so I might be eligible in a few days.

You can make the payment online. I would never go into a T-Mobile B&M to make a payment or anything else really. Unless it is necessary for trade-in deals or a deal that I cannot get online. Yeah, that is the only downfall of having your debit card connected to your checking account to be on T-Mobile. Yes, they have been breached many times. I think the last time they were breached was in 2021. I was affected by that breach. SMH!!! Long story short I was able to get it under control with lots of frustration. Nothing I can do about it. I blame a-holes, good-for-nothing thieves who want to make other people miserable cause they can't make an honest living. So they victimize others for their illegal sh*t.
I need to look at my options for not having a debit card associated with my primary checking or bank account. It is getting more and more difficult to work with companies as everyone also assumes you want to install their app on you phone and they want access to everything on it. How is that a good policy regarding security. So I need to think about this.

From text chat:
"Yes, that is exactly correct. No changes will be made on yoru account as the segment 2023BYOD_P1 will basically be added without charges.

Seeing that you've been a long time customer to T-Mobile already, I am sure that we can have this applied on your account again. So with this request, it can take at least 48-72 hours for the free line eligibility to be applied on yoru account again. Will that be fine for you?"

I guess we'll see how this goes. I dont have high hopes.

Anybody have any luck with a simple choice plan?
I contacted through Twitter T-force to see if the Simple Choice plan is still the best deal for 4 lines (no free lines previously added). They said they could apply that free line promo to the Simple Choice Plan. I opted not to since I didn't want to pay the extra $5.15/mo in taxes and fees + $35 activation for an empty line.

IF the line doesn't end up being free and I have to cancel it, will I lose other promotions? For example I have last years free line and the home internet discount. I think both said I can't cancel any lines or the promotion would be removed.

They were not concerned if you already have a phone or not but I was prepared with that. It seems the new line will have the same plan as whatever you have currently. And a new number is ok. They will mail you the sim and add the line to your account maybe in the next day or so.
Is the free line on your advantage unlimited plan? I noticed that mine is placed on an Essentials plan and their excuse is that my plans are on expired/no longer offered plans.

Just want to make sure the T mobile rep didn't screw me over.

How many paid lines do you have?

I have 1 and when I called for the free line they said my account didn't have that option. Only add a 2nd paid line and get a 3rd free.
