Sometimes these deals require going in store and limited time (24-72hrs usually). It's completely free (taxes & fees not included). If you have a tax inclusive plan like magenta, then everything is free (you might still have tax/fees of 10 cents or so... pointing it out since it triggers some people). Free as long as you don't close it. If you removed any lines in past 90 days they must be added before you can add another lime that would be free. If you cancel any lines within 12 months from adding the free line you lose the discount.
You CAN port a number in while adding the free line or later down the road. If you port the number OUT later, you might lose the free line. You can remove lines after 12 months and it won't affect the free line. Generally, you can't get the free line & a free phone promotion, extremely YMMV since it works for a few people, but I wouldn't count on it.
Know the terms and conditions before making a mistake and ranting.
Edit* Terms & Conditions? 'Customers must have the "2023BYOD_P1" segment on their account in Atlas or Tapestry to qualify. Customers with no segment or "2023BYOD_P1 - Inactive" are not eligible. BYOD or FRP purchases only (EIP not eligible for life of line). Device Connection Charge is required.'

If you add a voice line it would also include data and hotspot. It would be the same stuff you have with your current voice lines. It is not just added voice only with no data.
If your on simple choice your lines include free unlimited data and hotspot.
This promo does not appear to allow for free data only line used specifically for tablets.
Obviously, I will confirm - a talk & text ONLY line is of limited use to me.
From there on was the same as last December, asking for my CC info before assigning me a number and activating the new SIM. She also still waived the $35 activation fee. One small hiccup is that I didn't have my BYOD phone with me when I was chatting. But the lady went ahead and activated the SIM anyway and just asked me to contact t-moile later to give them the IMEI of my BYOD. Not sure how important that part is, but I figure I'd go ahead and do it later when I get home and have my BYOD with me.
So now I have 2 paid lines and 3 free lines. One free line when I opened my Magenta account wiht 2 paid lines almost 2 years ago, one free line from last December, and now one more.
"Yes, that is exactly correct. No changes will be made on yoru account as the segment 2023BYOD_P1 will basically be added without charges.
Seeing that you've been a long time customer to T-Mobile already, I am sure that we can have this applied on your account again. So with this request, it can take at least 48-72 hours for the free line eligibility to be applied on yoru account again. Will that be fine for you?"
I guess we'll see how this goes. I dont have high hopes.
Just want to make sure the T mobile rep didn't screw me over.

I didn't even realize talk and text times were even an option.
What plan do you have currently? Are you on the old simple choice?
Also, are simple choice plans eligible for the auto pay discount? Can I set this up on the T-mobile site? How much is the discount?
I have seen mixed reports that some with simple choice have been able to receive a $5/line discount with the new auto pay rules.
