People need to keep in mind that Ozark trail branded things help low income people go out and enjoy nature. They aren't the best thing out there, but a lot of people can't justify the "buy once cry once" mentally. They literally barely make enough for food. So Walmart having a brand that caters to people who can only put away 5$ a paycheck for fun money is admirable.

honestly better than paying 100 for columbia trail shoes and them falling apart after 1yr.

They have pretty good ratings, though I'd keep my expectations in check for a $13 pair of hiking shoes.

Reviews seem to indicate these have always been $14. A little too ugly for me and not a fan of mesh on recreational hiking shoes, won't last long

If you are a size 8, 9, or 10, these Bass shoes with actual rubber soles look good for $25.

I've seen water shoes with more material than these.

I was actually wondering if I could use these as water shoes?

I bought these shoes and the black ones in July of last year. The main problem is the buckle on the side. It loosens up within minutes of putting on the shoes. It's frustrating to keep them tight. I figured I could sew some Velcro, but I haven't gotten to do that.
Also, the mesh is separating a bit from the front of the shoe.
I paid 14 last year, and I wouldn't pay that again. They're cheap but they are good for walking around and baking breathable during these hot times.

It will work as long as you have the shoes and you have water

Any shoe is a water shoe if you walk in the right direction

The cheapskate in me is tempted, but my pride won't let me.

I agree with you.
I just realized my previous comment says I would not buy them again. But I meant to say I would.
