Technically, no.

You have to remember that they're probably balancing the motors on level surfaces and most residential units are anything but level. When you bring them home and run them, they're probably running off axis, which is bad for any motor.

Putting them on a dead level surface will get you the most life out of them, but that's not always feasible.

On more expensive units with a little bit of QC, you will find that there might be small weights attached to the fan blades to balance them. Taking these weights off completely or repositioning them will help rebalance an off axis setup.

For ones that don't have these, you can buy fan blade balancing kits on Amazon for about $5.

Using Super Lube brand synthetic grease on the hub will also eliminate any bearing noise.
I bought one of these a couple months ago. I thought it was a great deal at $50. When I was putting the base on I noticed there was a little gap at the base. I put a little piece of electrical tape and a couple felt pads there. It has been super quiet. Simple fix to possible squeak issue
I saw this yesterday in-store and the price was $44.99

Received it today and it works great. Happy with the purchase. Noise is there but you get used to it with the constant noise to shun it off. Remote is added feature. For $30 + tax... good but may not be at $45. There are a couple of cheaper ones from Wally as low as $12... may not have all the bells and whistles.

Been using this for a month. Don't like it that much. Hate the touch buttons. The oscillation angle, it's much narrower than the normal fan. It's also pretty weak.
