I had a similar experience when going from GTX 1070 to RX 6650XT. My main issues were all driver-related. Crashing/black screen on windows boot and when going out of sleep. I nearly returned it to Microcenter.

Used DDU(Display Driver Uninstaller) and does a completely clean uninstall of all the display drivers for Nvidia and AMD. You should also run the amd clean uninstaller as well to just start completely clean.
I also disabled Windows driver auto-install. It was loading bad display drivers before I can even install the new AMD drivers.
Also update chipset drivers.
Disabling ULPS helped the issues I had with the PC waking up with a black screen, and I think MSI Afterburner also turns that feature off.

I never had issues with games and even the first few weeks that I got the card everything was fine. I found the Adrenaline software to be very useful for quick performance tuning and setting some external graphics configs for games. I was able to undervolt/overclock pretty easily and is stable.

Concur this is the card I've been hunting, finally bit at this price after missing the previous $319 offer.
Was hoping to find a deal via a nearby microcenter but several months of watching and nothing.

I bought this on a similar deal a couple months ago, and kind of wish I had waited. This appears to run very hot (but "in spec"), and is quite power hungry compared to some of the other options that are (now, finally) getting down to more reasonable prices.

I always said I was brand agnostic, but wish I had gone with Nvidia. Lots of freezing, crashing, etc. with this card (upgraded power supply as well). I'm trying undervolting to see if that helps, but next step will be to uninstall the Adrenaline software completely since I read somewhere that they OC by default, it's a bit bloaty, etc.

Performance of the card is fantastic (of course), and I can run anything I own at ultra at 1440p. Even Last of Us runs great!

I THINK so, in terms of raw performance, but if you value DLSS or Raytracing, then definitely not. OTOH this card has 12GB ram and the 3060 Ti only has 8GB (which seems a bit low for a card these days).

MSI mech is well known to be a budget model with a very basic cooler so the temps and noise won't be fantastic. Power consumption is pretty standard for last gen GPUs at this performance tier.

Regarding Adrenalin, that's one of the best parts of owning an AMD GPU and whoever told you that Adrenalin overclocks by default has no idea what they're talking about. It's the specific AIB model that can be set to be OC'd to get a slight edge over stock. It merely shows you your current settings, lets you tune, show a metrics overlay etc. With Adrenalin, it's straightforward to undervolt, power limit, and/or reduce max frequency. My older PC has an Asus Dual 5700 XT that has UV, -15% PL, and slightly reduced max freq. Fully stable, 2-5% fps loss, quieter, less power as expected etc. Fully maxed out in the summer (77f inside), I get 55c core 70c hot spot even though I adjusted the fan curve to never go over 70% since I didn't need it.

Regarding freezing/crashing, it's quite rare to see that in the ~30 or so games I've tried the past year. My 3060 Ti and 5700 XT run into roughly the same number of minor issues, with issues being split between the game itself or the GPU vendor. No major issues with either.

I really appreciate your comment here, initially I wanted to downvote your response since you should have known what you were getting with this card, but your comment does provide insight into what the card does and doesn't offer compared to your initial expectation.
